Hey yall!

Ive got a 98 Land Cruiser with some 33 inch Gen Grabber AT2s, OME rear springs and some LED/KC llights on the front. LEDs in the cabin and have a CB and antenna waiting for install! This summer I am going to get some sliders and crank the torsion bars up and a rear coil spacer for another inch of lift and probobly some new shocks- maybe just a whole OME Lift I am not sure.

@administrator hope i get a emblem!

I am a student at Ole Miss but will be in St. Louis this summer, would love to do some trails this summer with anyone in that area!

What's up Fellas...

I heard about this place and decided to check it out.

My DD is an 06 Tundra with a leveling kit and 285 BFG A/T's

I picked up a 97 TJ last year from a friend that needs some TLC. It is a 2.5L with an AX15 5-speed, TerraLow 4:1 TCase, 4.88 gears Detroit in the rear and Lunchbox in the front.

Thanks @robert OB 0012, it's hard to find a lot of aftermarket parts for it but they are becoming available little by little.

This is our current adventure mobile, as well as my wife's DD - 2012 JK Sahara. 3.6L, 5spd Auto, stock driveline.

We've made the following mods over the last 9 months, mostly in our driveway.

50", 288 watt LED lightbar

Barricade steel mid-width bumper

9500lb Smittybilt XRC Gen2 winch

Rugged Ridge class III receiver hitch & wiring harness (I put a shackle/recovery attachment on it when not towing or using a hitch hauler.)

Custom built electrical distribution box ( from https://www.facebook.com/theonyxbox), wired into A pillar switches from Rugged Ridge.

Homemade front air-dam/skid plate.

Surco Safari Basket w/brackets for hardtop (no drill design.)

It's amazing where a stock new Wrangler get you to - we mostly explore the Ouachita & Ozark National Forests, but we've wheeled several ORV parks as well.

The 2-door JK is an amazing exploring and "recon" vehicle - but is really limited with regards to cargo space & GVWR. For more extended exploring, the 4-door JKU would be a better choice.

That being said, say hello to my future Overlanding rig... "Gojira"

1991 Toyota FJ80 Land Cruiser, 4.0L 3FE I6 engine. At present, it appears to be all stock, except for the exhaust.

I've only owned it for a couple months - but I think that older "wagon" FJ's (60, 80 Series, 70 Series or diesels if you happen to be in market where they are available) are possibly the finest vehicles ever built for exploration.

Gojira looks like an awfully fun project! Post updates and have fun with that.

@reggie - What's the TLC game plan?

My stock 4x4 5th gen 4runner sr5 with goodyear duratrac tires and thule cross bars (to attach my thule pulse cargo, etc). This rig is just begging for a transformation! All in good time.

Took a 1/2 day trip over the Golden Gate to hike w/in the Mt Tam Watershed, Marin CA.  Nice scenery, but really itching to get out of the Bay Area for some dirt roads!

My rig is an Toyota Landcruiser HJ61

OME - ARB Bull bar, steps and side protection - 255/85R16 BFG Mud

To dress my roof there is either an Columbus RTT or an full roof rack.

I alos own an BJ42 with OME and 265/75R16

Hey Everyone,

I am new to the site and pretty excited to get recommendations from all of you on fun trips and tips.  I am heading out to Anza Borrego this weekend to do some camping and off roading.  I have done Font's Point a few time, but want to hit Coyote Canyon. Is there any other trials I should try and camp at or drive while im out there?

Thanks,

Nice Disco!

I have just bought mine (8 weeks ago).  I have a stick 2000 disco TD5.  I have a list a mile long to do to it.  First up is replacement rear suspension as the air spring compressor is shagged.  Keeping mine at standard hight for now.  Changed up the tyres to 245/70R16 to keep it legal.

Future mods are to blank the EGR and install an oil catch-can, and tune the ECU.  XROX steel winch bar and winch are on the cards. As is some under body armour and rock sliders.

Mine will be used as a tug for our future camper trailer.

@Glen and @Coach - I always dug those (now considered "older) Disco's with that roof line and little window up in the back. Very cool. Glen, nice find on the TD5! Very cool Rovers you guys have got!
