Lets See Your Pop-Top Rigs!

  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

So, I was noticing there were no specific forums here for truck campers, and there’s a ‘few’ of those around and put in a suggestion for that, and Jim created this section. So to get things started, let’s try a thread for pictures of truck camper rigs. Here’s mine: a 2021 Ovrlnd Camper on a ’21 Tundra DC with some mods. I’ve noticed a few posts on OB relative to Ovrlnds, so if there’s more interest, I’m happy to put some more info up. The basics: 362 lbs empty and bare naked inside. We have well over a 100 nights in it and love it. No problems, no leaks, drips or errors. Handles heavy winds really well. 65”x81” pull out bed. Did the interior build out in a couple of stages, but the pictures here pretty much show the final version except the first one.

Pretty much how it’s configured now, but moved the water under the cabinet and put in a sink and switched the Wave catalytic heater on the Pside wall for a Truma:

Sure, after a lifetime of building out our own Jeeps- Landcruiser and expo trailers and camping in tents and later on in a rooftop tent , my wife and I decided to go full time. Once that decision was made we spoiled ourselves and had our new home on wheels custom built. The aluminum bed was a one off custom built prototype and installed by Jutland out of Gap, Pa. The F-350 was built in Louisville KY, the rear bumper is a Trailready, built in Oregon, and the Grandby was built in California. The pop up was purchased & installed by Mainline Overland at their Bow NH facility. Unlike so many horror stories from people about their new campers, we’ve only had one little electronic kerfuffle which was easily remedied by Mainline.
