Weekend adventure up to Kootenay Lake in Canada. Hike to the lighthouse and Ride the Ferry across Kootenay Lake, visit Ainsworth Hot springs, see the old steamer in Kaslo and tour Sandon Ghost town.

I am going to mark us as going. I will be getting back from a 3 week trip out of country that same week so Kathryn will probably want to get away from the kids. I’ll keep in touch though.

We would love to join on this trip, but we are not quite ready to cold camp. Is anyone wanting to find a rental? We can find our own and plan accordingly, but up to sharing a house with others!
I am in the same boat. I know you all call me a fair weather camper, yup. Lori was interested in going and mentioned crashing at the Ainsworth for at least part of the trip. I will see waht she is thinking.

Ehh I think you've camped in some pretty unfair weather IMO. and who cares, you get out there. many don't even attempt.

As for us we'll be on a jet plane to south florida (hows that for fair weather) leaving the same day. Enjoy! looking forward to the pics!

I am heartbroken, distraught and disturbed I will be at my national sales meeting trapped in a hotel all weekend. I wanted to ride the ferry. And get instagram ferry boat shots like a real overlander.

Someday.

Kate and I would love to go, but knee surgery on the 11th will keep me out of service for a bit.

sorry I haven't been on here in a bit. Just wanted to check in with everyone and get a people headcount. Who has not made reservations at the hotsprings yet? And is everyone ok with chipping in for the campgrounds both nights? they are not very expensive.

It have reservations for me and Addy at 10:00am. I guess at this point it would be a good idea to get your own reservations to Ainsworth. Their is a link to the Ainsworth website on the rally point description. If anyone has trouble, let me know. I would be happy to help.

Our car of 2 plus dogs have hot spring reservations and will be staying at an air bnb near the hot springs. We plan to be apart of all the journey and will back track at night to our stay.

We got our reservation set for Saturday at 10AM also. Cooper, Sam and I will be leaving around 12PM on Friday, so we'll likely meet you all at the ferry. Since Sam is still battling a sinus infection we might head back home Saturday after we soak.

As I prepare to fly to Colorado, to be locked in a hotel for four days, I hope that your trip is amazing. It looks beautiful and I’ll definitely have to hit that sometime in the future. Safe travels and have a blast, living an adventurous life.

Kathryn ended up going with me for 3 weeks so we are going to stay home this weekend and spend some time with our kids and get caught up on life. Have a great time

Hey I sent a message out to those attending, but if anyone else decides to not be a wussie ;-) we are going to meet at Lancaster at 10AM, and meet at the ferry at 5:20PM Pacific Time, and then we are going to stay at the Lost Ledge Campground on the North end of Kootenay lake both nights. It's a pretty campground right on the lakes edge. And if you just want a fun day trip and are willing to wake up early. We're going to Ainsworth hot springs at 10:00AM and touring the Sandon Ghost Town around 2-3PM.
