Stupid wind. Painting was going well, then the dust hit. I’ll probably strip them, and start over.

Replaced the airbox to fender seal today. The original is 10 years. You can see if was still making contact, but based on intake air temps I’ve been seeing, I think that was intermittent. I used some 2-1/4” square window ac seal for the new one.

I found some door hardware on eBay. The seller was even local, so pickup instead of shipping.

To keep the alien inside.

Er, to keep the overland hound in when the windows are down.

It seems you're reading my mind from the last outing I was on. We'd had a week of steady rain and the roads were a deep thick mud. But slow and steady, feathering the throttle, and I was through with zero problems. It was actually fun knowing it'll do it.

If I were gonna play, I'd love to have a Torsen-Gleason differential.
Yep! when you know how the diff works, it does pretty well.
If the g80 in our truck ever blows up, I'm planning to get a detroit and re-gear the truck. The torsion diffs are great but I feel in a 2wd something that does a hard lock would work out better in the long run for dirt road and desert travels.
When you say hard lock, are you talking about and electronic locking rear diff like a Tacoma? I stead of the G80? I have a Silverado 2wd with G80 but I think something that would lock completely would work better. I’ve done big bend and hidden falls adventure park with my Silverado (level 3 and a little of level 4) and she hasn’t let me down yet, I love it!

Since thecopcar is set up for overlanding, I do have a 45L refrigerator on board. It’s a single zone, but capable of dropping to 4F. Fast forward to last Tuesday. My dad and his wife are coming to visit for turkey day. He calls to suggest I pick up a small turkey early, and reminded me it needs to stay frozen. Hmmm, a turkey won’t fit into my freezer at home.

so, for the last few days, thecopcar has been a rolling meat wagon. The fridge is holding steady at 25 degrees.

Thecopcar received an upgrade recently. Today I had the chance to test deploy the Crime Scene (tm) awning in preparation for an upcoming trip to Big Bend.
