Hey guys,

I just moved from Brazil to the US, I've been relocated by my company, I don't know anything in the area, just got my F-150 (no mods yet) and want to get out and explore. But I don't know where to start looking for trails and nice places. Besides the Overland Bound forum any other recommendations?

Thanks!

All Trails, iOverlander, Trails Offroad, etc all have very useful site maps. I'd start with those, or simply googling local offroad trails often pulls up some pretty good finds.

Check out www.funtreks.com I have their book on California trails. Very good read for some of the trails here in Cali.

I really like Trailsoffroad.com, as mentioned above. Every trail I've researched and then been on has had pretty accurate ratings, directions, waypoints, pictures, warnings, etc. In my opinion, it's one of the best resources for discovering new trails in your area, especially if you're new to an area. It does cost a few bucks for the subscription (a recent change, it used to be free) but I use it enough to make it worth while.

Also, locals(Co-workers, people you may meet at a bar, etc) might know even more stuff that Trailsoffroad hasn't written up yet.
