hitting up alabama hills

gonna take off after work tomorrow and make the trek down there. Coming back sunday. Any suggestions on a local spot to check and camp after Alabama hills.

Ive been meaning to check out that area too but cant make it this weekend.
One thing I do know is that this weekend it the Sierra Trout Opener so a lot of fishermen will be heading that way also.

Try to get there before too late if you can.
We arrived around 6:45pm on a Saturday and had to hunt around for a little bit to find a nice spot to camp.

There's a campground on the way up to Whitney Portal, but it looked a bit exposed to the wind (?). If the road to Whitney Portal is open yet, there's a much nicer campground up there.

Hit the trail to the left just before Movie trail rd. No crowd and a good private spot next to Creek.
