Hey, Canada Ranger;
So there ARE people from Ottawa and area on here!
I'm across the river from you in Gatineau, north part of Hull, almost in Old Chelsea.
I'll keep a watch out for your fleet of Dodge RAM 1500 overlanding rigs :)
Maybe we'll cross tracks sometime.

I didn't know the term "overlanding" even existed until two years ago when the Director of Operations of search and rescue team I'm on mentioned it. This was at the drivers briefing whree we took a handful of trucks and members on a recce in the Pontiac area of Quebec (Ottawa - Otter Lake - Maniwaki - Ottawa) to see what the backroads are like waaaaaay up there. (They are pretty nice, BTW. When I get the hang of all the organization of these forums I'll post some details.) Then this year I discovered overlanding on YouTube. BOOM!

Welcome, I’m new here myself, from Hamilton Ontario, and in the process of setting up my F150. Just got back from my first venture to Pickle Lake Ontario.

Pickle Lake?! Geez, there should be a special emblem for anyone who goes anywhere near Wabakimi from Southern Ontario.
I grew up in Nipigon, so in terms of Northwestern Ontario driving, that's almost next door.

Beautiful area all around. I’ve driven through in the past but this was the first time exploring and I will go back. It’s like the west coast of Ontario . [emoji7]
The "West Coast of Ontario" would be Quetico Provincial Park / Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Minnesota, IMHO. (Even though Lake of the Woods is the _actual_ west of Ontario.)

But yeah, the Lake Nipigon watershed offers lots to explore. World class fishing, too. But I grew up there, so you know where my heart lies.

I've started submitting map entries for the Nipigon area. Keep checking back.

Welcome to the Family!
I'm out in Petawawa, ON not that far from Ottawa.
Planning a trip end of Sept doing the Ottawa Valley Overland Route. Looking for others from the surrounding area to get a good group of us going!
Cheers,
