Hey all,
I'm Mike, hailing from Bodymore, Murderland.. err, sorry, Baltimore, Maryland. Very much new to overlanding but I've been camping a lot over the last several years. My daily driver is a 2012 Highlander which has been absolutely outstanding thus far. I have no desire to get rid of it until it simply doesn't function anymore.
I was wondering if it's possible to tag along on a trip with someone or if that's "weird" for some reason? And if possible, is there a section/forum where I can find someone to go with around the area? This is a more affordable way to get started and see some do's/don'ts and what works/doesn't before pulling the trigger and buying a new car, etc, etc.
And speaking of vehicles, what's everyone's thoughts on: 06 4Runner SR5 V8 vs newish 4Runner vs newish F150.
Would love to meet up with some folks from the forum for coffee/beer/etc and chat some more about this.
Cheers,
Mike
