It seems like that should face the other way (lifting bit faced forward) to avoid scratching up the yolk in front of the windshield or breaking the glass when the hood is inevitably opened to fix it.

Good one! I feel a lot better about my Ozark Trail cooler after seeing it in action. It did just as well as the Yeti on the same trip in the same conditions.
