After a few recent trips and the recent meet/greet, many folks indicated it would be good to have a standing "General" thread for communicating/sharing/planning/etc for the OB Community in Utah. We can link to specific other events and rally points here as well.

We had some great initial introductions to folks this past few months and have some tentative weekend trips planned for this summer so come back often to see what folks have "shakin'".

Hello everyone! Thanks for setting this up.
Besides just camping and wheeling trips I'd like to set up trail/area cleanups to help keep our public lands open. I have a place at work to dispose of the trash but if we get something big enough going we could contact UPLA or the forest service for a dumpster.

Worked with a local welder to custom fabricate a mount for the 270 degree awning I picked up a few months ago. I waited until the RTT was installed and functioning so that I made sure the awning didn't interfere. Turned out pretty good and the awning is rock solid. Looking forward to the first trip in the coming weeks to try it out along with the rest of the setup.

Good morning all!
I am organizing a trail clean up for the Five Mile Pass area in the near future. I have Intermountain landfill on board for disposal of the garbage and hope to hear back from UPLA soon.
Is anyone interested in joining? Full day of trails and cleaning up our public lands to help keep them open!

Had a great time exploring the Uintas this past weekend. Got all the way into Echo Lake (not Echo Reservoir) as well as up to the Soapstone Cliffs and then also Little Deer Creek Falls. At the higher elevations the mosquitos were very manageable, but the last night at the lower elvation near Alexander Lake the mosquitos and gnats were pretty thick but not so much to make it unbearable. Full moon at night was pretty cool too. We found a few patches of snow remaining at the highest elevations but only in the shade and will likely be all gone in another week or so. If you have not explored the many trails off the Mirror Lake Highway, you should!
