2 day trip through General Patton’s Training Center.

We plan on exploring the following locations:
• Camp Iron Mountain / Camp Granite / Rice AFB / Midland Ghost Town
• Camp Coxcomb / Palen Pass Rd where Patton did a lot of tank training.
• Old bunker and check out the fox holes, Black Jack Mine & Tunnel.

Would like to attend but:
Rig is a Tundra truck but no spots, winch or Ham license

That sounds like fun, I would tag-a-long but I think I am a bit of an oddball, I work weekends. Inye26, you have a Tundra! No excuse unless you don't have 33"s, Ok, the ham ticket would be nice to have but still no reason not to go. Is it ok if Lawrence joins you Ron? Enjoy your outing.

If trip is still a go I would like to go. My reply may have been a bit misleading about intentions.
Rig is 2019 Tundra with 2' lift and 34' tires. Have victory 4x4 underbody armor.
I just have not yet installed ditch lights or light bar I do have a radio but no license (new in box).
I also have not upgraded bumber with winch yet but do have recovery gear.
Fairly new to overlanding but have done several easy/moderate trails out in the Mojave desert area.
Let me know your thoughts.

Hello Ron, my wife Kathy and I are interested and would like to join you guys on this trip. Any chance you have any additional info? We live in Temecula, we drive a Jeep JLU with RTT, and we’re fairly experienced in overlanding, camping, crawling. For some reason, neither of us has toured the Patton museum, though we’ve driven by it a zillion times. It sounds like a really fun trip!

I apologize to you Lawrence if my comments were viewed as anything but supportive, for that was not my intent. Hope to see you on the trail someday, Brian

Brain: No apologies needed. Your comments are very supportive. I had just figured from the trip requirements my rig and equipment not up to the trip.
Original post should have been worded better as to ask if what I was lacking would be still able to participate
My concern mostly is the Tundra is an overly non petite girl and has limitations on some narrow trails.
I do mostly solo adventures but would like the comfort of backup on unknown trails.

Cheers to our non-petite Tundras! :yum: They might be full-figured, but they sure know how to strut their stuff! I am in the same predicament as you and find myself going out alone far too often than I should. Take care, Brian

Ron is this trip still happening? Have not heard any updates.
Please respond has to whether I should head out to Chiricao summit in AM.
