I love the inreach! Did you know Garmin just launched a Mini version? Anybody here use LeadNav? I just tried it out for last weekend's Baja 500 and the customization and zoom capabilities are awesome. No extra equipment needed if you have a GPS capable smartphone or tablet. I have a galaxy tab with the earthmate app that I downloaded maps while at home for offline use.
Then while on the trail I have a garmin inreach that paired with the tablet. So far it has worked good for me.

Tablet in otterbox holder with ram mount bolted to otterbox cover so i can take tablet out and use for other things or just flip over so sun isnt direct on screen when not in use
