Garmin inReach Explorer+ & iPad Mini

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

I love the inreach! Did you know Garmin just launched a Mini version? Anybody here use LeadNav? I just tried it out for last weekend's Baja 500 and the customization and zoom capabilities are awesome. No extra equipment needed if you have a GPS capable smartphone or tablet. I work in satellite communications and specialize in overland and offshore applications. Let me know if y'all have any questions and I'm be happy to help out!

I have a galaxy tab with the earthmate app that I downloaded maps while at home for offline use.
Then while on the trail I have a garmin inreach that paired with the tablet. So far it has worked good for me.
Inreach
in power cradle on dash
Tablet in otterbox holder with ram mount bolted to otterbox cover so i can take tablet out and use for other things or just flip over so sun isnt direct on screen when not in use
