@Trixter404 OK, I know what's up and you won't like the answer. If you look at those image urls, they have "?1" appended to the end. Our new security measures will block those requests from loading. The basic reason is that it will prevent someone from executing a command we don't want.

To fix this, either strip the ?1 from the end of those urls (you will see they load immediately) or use the "Upload a File" button at the bottom of the post editor and choose: "Full Size" to display the image in the post. Thats a better method anyway, because we then store your file "locally" and the link will never be broken.

I know thats work, but I don't want to disable the security feature.

Background: Our server is more secure, certain things are not allowed as a result.

I'm going to post in the General Discussion area to let folks know.

@Laughing Otter are you linking to images or can you think of any other thing in the post that might get flagged by the server? Casino was flagged for Dan, and I'm working on an issue where @Trixter404 s images are not loading because they have "?1" appended to the end of them. I think it is triggering a security flag. Any ideas or details?

M
Yes, I was attaching a you tube video to the post...is that the issue?

That fixed it! And it wasn't too much work. Thanks, Michael!

Send me a link to the thread? I'll look at it. Also see the update to this thread in your original post. I need to know exactly what you are trying to do to diagnose the issue.

TEST POST

Magellan TRX App Trial

not sure who has seen this app or device yet ~ http://www.magellangps.com/Outdoor-Navigation/Magellan-TRX-Off-road-GPS-Navigation

by no means will it replace a map or compass yet a stand alone GPS unit either

I see all the discussions about the Gaia app & thought I'd try something else

I'd like the actual Magellan TRX gps, but really dont want to spend the $$$ for another toy, since I already have 3 GPS's that are collecting dust

you can download this through the google playstore, you know how to do that

install app and proceed

agree to the end user license agreement

it downloads , this part might take a couple of minutes

register for a new account

go to settings and enable your GPS function, set up twitter or Instagram forwarding if so desired too

you can chose to select the tracking feature too, this allows you to share your trails, road trips etc with friends

& then select got to map

sadly the map is a road map, unless you pay to upgrade & download usgs topo maps

I only turned on my GPS function without any data or wireless connection & it found my location

I stopped here and had to question whether I would actually use this or would it be a novelty item before buying the updated topo maps etc

please report your findings , opinions etc

Can you send me the exact url you are trying to link?

Also, I don't recommend linking to outside image hosts. It causes problems. The best way is to use the "attach" feature in the forums. This will avoid issues and avoid broken links. Also, we don't limit the number of photos you can upload.

Sir,
Yes I see that and thats my problem
I just hate to waste server space hosting a pic when a site can do that for free
I just havent had time to figure out how to insert pics where I want them when creating a new post, they all seem to drop to the bottom, below the text
Thanks again
Mike

Understood! To get the image where you want it, after uploading the image, put your cursor in your message where you want your image, and then select the "Full Image" button. It will insert the image at your cursor.

Getting an issue trying to post images. It’s happened twice now, once a ~1.4mb photo, once a ~200kb photo. It shows up as a stock blue photo icon with a closed lock in the bottom right. If I click on it, it says “No Permission Sorry, you don’t have permission to view this attachment.”
