Florida Panhandle Overlanding (Eglin,BlackWater, Yellow River)

These were taken on that ride we did last weekend in Blackwater State Forest. It’s was a great time.

Is that in South Florida near Naples? I think I remember as a young boy fishing with my Grandfather in the Blackwater River.

No, it’s up in the Panhandle north of the Navarre/Pensacola area.

According to the Jackson Guard website it is still open, just no camping unless you already had a camping permit since the office to purchase camping passes is closed.

Yeah that checks. Plenty open to go do some wheeling, just no camping.

I have a co-worker who camped out at Bear Lake in Blackwater this weekend, I guess Blackwater is open for business. Too bad it's about to get hot!

I just booked a tent site at Hurricane Lake South Campground for this coming weekend! I checked the weather and highs will be in the low 80's with lows in the low 60's so the evenings should be nice and kayaking out on the lake and doing some fishing shouldn't be too bad!

I've asked in other NW Florida threads if anyone knows of a country cafe we could do meetups at but no responses yet.
