Looking for some advice and insight from those who have traveled North to South through Georgia before. Goal is to travel from FL to Charleston, SC avoiding the highway system, preferably on dirt or improved roads.
We are not terribly interested in making a straight line directly to Charleston and will entertain slight detours enroute to our destination. I have researched the Georgia Traverse and have intentions of covering a part of that.
Also, I've attempted to research this traditionally through the internet and have come up dry, are there any dedicated sites to state-maintained gravel roads?
Thank you!
