After a month of camping near Rhode Island for a few nights at a time, our electrical issues have been ironed out by Main Line Overland in NH. . Shake down completed. Now in a nice site in central Maine. Only the beginning of our travels. Follow along if you’re interested in keeping up with our travels:

Back to RI after wild camping at the edge of the Maine wilderness for 5 nights. Couple of little things to sort out, such as reducing carry case footprint, propane extension hose, extra water filters and getting another set of treds. I’ll be moving the rack forward 4” along with a tire repair & rotation. Had our first tire puncture ever, so I finally got to use the ARB tire plugging kit I’ve been carrying for over 15 years. Great shake down run. We’ll be headed way north the 12 of July and on our permatour.

Those logging roads up in Maine sure do love to punch holes in tires.

Good luck in your journey

Saw your Instagram. Almost looked like a chain link section from old skidder tire chain, logging chain, or the such. Once had plug tires three times in one day running around on those old logging roads
yikes- we considered goin deep into the wilderness, as it was we were happy to do a bit of exploring and 3 nights of camping just a bit north of Moosehead Lake. Going way west & north of there I think I’d want to go in with no less than 2 trucks.

Permethrin and deet are your friends and keep the skeeters at bay. So, no, not really all that bad for me, my wife however, is so sweet that she is a mosquito magnet. Yes, we are taking 10 days to drive along the bay of Fundy, then into NS. Our Ferry reservation to Newfoundland is the 23rd. Then on up to Labrador and back down on the Trans Labrador. I’ve purchased travel insurance for healthcare, dental and emergency extraction until the 15th of Sept as we must be back in Pa before the end of September to renew my drivers license. From there, we’ll get back on the Appalachian Byway Overland Route continuing south for the winter.

Nice! Sounds similar to what we have in mind.
