On a side note, we had some company on the way back. Two 70 series Land Cruisers with European plates came out of the south entrance to Joshua Tree and followed us for awhile.
That's because you looked like you knew where you were going and they are obviously lost....must've been a tough drive across the ocean :D

Bit of drama with the trailer, not the Nissan. At some point I took a curb large enough to articulate the brake actuator enough that it snapped the little shock assembly inside the trailer tongue that keeps braking smooth. As a result, everytime I had to use any moderate braking power, the trailer would lock and unlock its brakes repeatedly. Interesting, but not a trip ender...

Then, the smoke started pouring out of the street side wheel...

Yup, threw a wheel bearing. Had to pull over and wait an hour for the thing to cool enough to tear apart and rebuild.

I got back on the road, and finally got home to realize I had left my bread in the fridge of the trailer! A recipe for disaster!!! Had to half pop it up to retrieve it...
