This is hands down my favorite spot to camp at so far in Arizona. It is nice and remote, accessible by most 2wd vehicles when roads are dry, and offers one of the most scenic camping spots around! Easily found by taking Forest Service 231 Rd, Sedona, AZ 86336 just off of Interstate 17 near Flagstaff. It is about an 1 hr 15 min of dirt roads from I-17 to the East Pocket Knob Firetower and Edge of the World scenic view. Here are some photos from my recent trip and I hope to make many more trips there!

Lots of different points off of FR231 with views. It just fills up every weekend so get there early.

Been looking for something like this in N. Arizona that’s quick to get to from Vegas. National Forest with primitive camping I assume?

This was posted awhile ago, but if it is dry do you think i could get to this spot pulling a popup camper in a van?? In dry weather

I had no problem towing my small offroad camper back there. As long as the popup camper isn’t super long you should be ok. And yes, if its dry the van should do fine. Spots are not huge as you continue to drive back there but I had my supercrew truck and camper and was fine.

You should be able to, my friend brought his 30 foot trailer, it scraped a lot going trough the rougher areas but he made it.
