US West East Bay Monthly Meet Up - Pleasanton Ridge regional park CA - AUGUST MEET up moved to Aug 20- OLD THREAD

Crew - a couple of quick announcements / updates on upcoming trips in case you can't make it to this upcoming Sundays Meetup.

We do have a full schedule.

So first things first
- The July Meet-Up will be at our regular spot in the Pleasanton Ridge regional park Jul 9th 1pm.
- Our Aug Meetup is on the 13th

Next we have lots of up - coming trips

- Jul 14 - 16 - June Lake - by Liz - US West - Walker Lake/ Mono Pass Traihead
- the rally point is up - I am sure Liz will have a very interesting and scenic route planned

- Jul 20/21 - 23 - Eagle Meadows Area Hwy 108 - @CemenTRDgen (Joshua) - Eagle Meadows and Niagara Rim Trail
- see the rally point by Josh. This is definitely a trip with some more technical requirements so please check the requirements

- Aug 10 - 12 - Camp nation - @Frank Powell - CampNation Expo
- Frank talked about this at our last meet-up. This is more a camp-out / hang out type event. See Frank for details if interested.

- Aug 24 - 27 - Coyote Flats Funnel Lake - @mr._shafer_sir (Ron) - Rally Point in the works
- This is a trip for the jeepsters / rock crawlers in the group - Ron and Emanuel are planning to take a group and go up to funnel lake via a challenging jeep route. The rally point is in the works

- Sep ? - Bent to Alvarod - @SWLands (Steve) - plan tbd

Q4
- Oct 27-29 - Mojave TrailGuardian -
- @Kent (Kent) - is busy organizing our Fall Mojave Trail Guardian Event - more details to follow but for now save the date
- Tentative Mojave National Preserve Trail Guardian

SOME TRIP SCHEDULING UPDATE ... Suggestions welcome

Crew,

a few quick announcements regarding the planned trips as we had a couple of changes.


Aug 24 - 27 - CANCELED - Coyote Flats Funnel Lake - @mr._shafer_sir (Ron)
- Unfortunately it turns out that Coyote Flats is closed due to heave trail damage from the snow/run off. So Ron made the call to CANCEL this trip.

Sept/Oct - Bend / Alvarod desert - @Jane and Sergio
- Sergio is steping in for Steve to organize this trip. Current thinking is that it will be either the last week of Sept or 1st week of Oct and approx 5-8 days exploring the area. Hope to discuss the details at our Aug Meetup

Having said that this leaves the opportunity to organize an extra trip / get away for some time Mid / late August.
- Currently I am thinking Usal / Lost Coast (get out of the heat) or going up to Blackrock.
- any other ideas / suggestions ? Please let me know

Our Aug Meetup is on the 13th. and we'll use it do discuss / do some planning for Q3/Q4

Janet and I are always up for Usal - used to love getting out on the beach, but my efforts in April ended in letting Jessie (or Jason?) use his stretchy strap to pop our trailer loose from the sand.
We'd also like to get up to Leavitt - anyone have word from USFS on if/when the road will be clear/gate open?
