US West East Bay - Anza Borego Trip

I'm going to have to bail on this trip :( I just had my topper installed last weekend, and drove to Ventura and back. Can't do another big drive two weekends in a row. Hopefully another time. I took myself off the list.

Many thanks Sergio- I just sent you a message; please pull Karen and I OFF the meals for this trip...work stuff may prevent us from attending as planned albeit we are still planning on the trip as of this writing. Sorry for any inconvenience and the planning hassles.

Hey everyone, I'm back in for this trip. Plan on meeting everyone at the Hollywood & Vine campsite sometime on Friday the 2nd. I am shooting to be there around 4-5pm barring any traffic.
  • Happy to throw in money for the meals. Looks like its $20
  • Chase lights arriving today, Baofeng already programmed.
  • I didn't see a link for the Gaia file?
  • I'll update the contact list shortly
Any other obvious misses on my part?

Hi all. Sergio here. Ray and I would like to coordinate dinners. All are invited. You can either contribute to the potluck or chip in later.

Thursday- Hamburgers. (Ron’s request)
I’ll need a head count for that.

Friday- Italian
Pasta main - Crepes for dessert.

Saturday- Mexican
Tacos for main

Please post if you’re in and what sides you want to make.

Thanks.
Sergio, got your message. I will not be able to make this trip as planned. Looks awesome, hopefully another time.

Hello all, sorry for he last minute question for planning purposes; wood for campfires a thought or strictly propane powered fire pits? I thought previously we could have a wood fire provided it was within a self-contained elevated "pop-Up" fire pit.

Where will the party be either Friday night or Saturday morning?

I might be able to join the group depending onwork and traffic.

I feel like wood fires should be ok.
That being said I think we should plan on bringing some wood too :)

Friday night we will camp in the mud palisades and Saturday night we will be camped by calcite mine. Check out the gpx for exact(ish) locations

I will have to wait for another time….. have a fun and safe time everyone!

That was fun! Hope everybody made it home safely. Many thanks to Jeff for leading the group. There was plenty of time to socialize but we also had a great route through the area, cool spots to wander around on foot, or go play in our vehicles. I learned so much on this trip, and had a great time getting to know all of you! For wildflowers it was still a bit early, but we did get a taste of it. Can't wait to get back to the desert when it's in fuller bloom.
