Nice rig. I love those ARB bumpers on Tacoma’s. Also love the new tent setup
Yes it was nice to get back to an ARB bumper. I have had several over the years.

The Habitat is fantastic and has been on of my favorite additions for making camping easier and more comfortable. 6A3A29FA-2B67-4FCA-9A2B-EBD0AA9C302B.jpeg

Awesome build, how do you like the STT pros for your application?
The STT Pros were fantastic for off-road for their entirety. The on-road performance was alright for the first several months. They then began to be noisy.

I currently run Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They have been the best all around tire I have ran before. On street they are not very loud and handle well. Off-road they grip well and do well when air’d down.

Very impressive rig. Sorry but the big front bumper ruined the looks to me but I don't own it.

The switch didn’t happen for the purpose of appearance.

Form and function took over. Having took some damage I felt it was time to provide better front end protection.

My other vehicles (80 series and 4th T4R) had been properly protected from trail and animal strikes. They afforded me a peace of mind when traveling. I did not worry a trip may be ended to minor impacts or cause greater damage to the vehicle rendering me stranded.

Animal strikes! That is the first thing I think of when I see an ABR. That thing would put the hurt on those local kamikaze deer we have around here.

I haven’t hit one in years other than an oncoming minivan launching one under my truck before I could stop. The griswolds were traumatized. When I got out to drag it off the road they jumped out like they thought I could fix it or something?

My wife is the butcher. Seems like she KOs one every couple of year. The last one I was passenger (had a few beers at dinner). The thing flew out of the dark airborne and I thought it was coming through the windshield. Never got her foot off the gas. At 55mph it just about totaled her little Jetta. She’s now upsized to a 4runner and is bumper shopping.

There’s plenty of aftermarket bumpers. Few are engineered and tested as much as the ARB. Few provide true protection. Even less will stand behind airbag functioning upon a serious impact.

Owning several items from ARB I can also attest to their warranty and how much they stand behind their products.

I’m much more into the balance between function/durability & weight than I am looks. Granted I don’t want some ridiculous sh/t hanging of my rig but I’ll sacrifice the IG cred for something reputable.
