Clearwater National Forest trip

Planning a trip to Elk River, Idaho next weekend looking for some suggestions on backcountry camping with an overland trailer. Thanks in advance!

Around the rim of the Reservoir there is camping (fee) that are nicely set up we’ve stayed at when I was younger. Out of town you should have no problem finding camping spots. What’s bringing you to Elk River and what direction are you traveling? We’ve snowmobiled up there quite a bit in the past, but haven’t done much summertime exploring yet. Theres an easy (short but hill) hike to Elk Creek Falls, Giant Cedar tree and grove, and of course Huckleberry Ice Cream. Enjoy and have a great trip!

Thanks for the info. We are heading from Coeur d’Alene for the big trees and just getting away for a weekend.
