I let this year get away from me or I would be doing this in 2025. I can't hardly wait.

I did the NMBDR the last week of August 2024, of course it crisscrosses the CDT several times, and I've spent time in NM on some of the other areas too, so looking forward to this.

I've done camping and off-roading but this will be the first overlanding. I'm hoping someone with experience will join the trip, because this is one thing I don't want to learn the hard way.

A beautiful trip indeed.

I have a friend from work who will likely be joining us. It will be his first overlanding trip.

You might check this out for fire info;
Yeah, unfortunately any time you head out west these days you have to include checking recent fire reports and if a trail has washed out after a recent fire.

Hello all. I've never given it much thought until Kent mentioned a very long stretch of the trail that will require extra fuel to be carried. Has anyone ever measured MPG on the trail vs on the road. The 4runner is heavy and loves the fuel.
