Hi All,

My cooking is usually only tolerable by me so I usually take a couple of bottles of whiskey and scotch to share. I'm looking for recommendations for new American whiskeys to enjoy fireside.

Bull Run from Portland is currently hitting the spot.

For Whisky, the Nectar of my People and my favo(u)rite is Highland Park from Orkney.

What do you enjoy?

Cheers!
Gary

Blanton’s and Angel’s Envy are solid choices. It’s not American but my favorite every day whisky is Ardbeg 10 if you like a smokey flavor.

Nice! I'll be checking these out for sure. Ardbeg is great. I do like the Islay whiskies.

Thanks for sharing.

I myself am a whiskey man. Love the stuff you talked about. Its refreshing to kick back a few glasses sitting by the fire talking about the day and unwinding.

Just bought a fifth of Tin Cup, fellow I know gave it a thumbs up, once I crack it open I will update you, but he was pretty enthusiastic.
Thanks for sharing. Visiting their site I noted this quote: "LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DRINK BAD WHISKEY". I wholeheartedly agree with this outlook in life.

Adding to my list.

Cheers!

Bourbon:

Knob Creek, Buffalo Trace, Bulleit

Scotch:

Highland Park 12, Glenfarclas, Glenrothes, Talisker Storm (also an excellent addition to coffee btw).
All good choices! I will definitely add Buffalo Trace to the tasting list.

One of my co-workers brought in a bottle of Glenfarclas 10 the other day. She has one hell of a whisk(e)y drawer at work.

Highland Park 12 is my go to.

Cheers!

Indeed. I thoroughly enjoy being under the stars and sharing with friends around the fire.

Cheers!
