Let me show you my rig and it's current state of build. Here it is the day I bought it. Just needs a fuel pump. Lol not. Got it home and its corroded to death. Wiring, harnesses, body, seats, everything. I have my rock crawler but its not my style so everything will swap over to the 4runner.

Reinforced the back and fiberglassed it in. It's too bad this thing is so far rusted.

The cargo area was just as bad. I really like the flexseal. I'll be curious as to how it holds up. It's got a good feel to it.

Time to clean up a bit. A load for the scrap yard. The spare 22r and 22re will go into storage.

The front springs are broken and the axle is sitting on the frame. Ordered a $400 lift off Ebay.

The lift kit came with add a leafs for the rear lift. It wasnt enough so I added 3" left blocks. It leveled it out nice. Here's the first drive to town. Had to get gas.

Winch time - I went with a new cable instead of rope. Abrasion resistance is the reasoning. I went with the wireless remote from tractor supply. Plugged right in to the ramsey winch. In is out and out is in but it's got a ton of range.

A roof rack and here's how she sits. I converted it to a 5 speed and it has the 22r. I also started a dash. The other one was all broken. I've used luan for now. If I like the layout I can use it as a template at a later time.

A little more work on the dash. The engine never had a thermostat in it when it was in the crawler. I broke the temp gauge sending unit so I have to go to town in the morning to get one as we are going to the woods tomorrow and I dont want to run it with out the gauge. I have to be easy off road as the driveshaft is a smidge short. I need to do some frame work in the spring and I may switch to longer springs. Indont want to get the drive shaft changed if I am going to change the wheelbase in a few months.

I dislike the dash but the shakedown trip went well. Everything worked as it should. While.it drives like crap over 40mph it does surprisingly well off road for having open diffs.


I dont know if lowing the dash a couple inches will help but something needs to be done.

I've lowered the dash. I cant stand it that high.
