US West Black Rock Desert - Stevens Camp/Solider Meadows

Planning a 3-4 trip to Black Rock - heading to Stevens Camp and then over to Solider Meadows.
Will "basecamp" at both locations so you can explore from there.

Tenative Dates : May 24th (Weds) - May 28th (Sun)

This trip is still being planned, and gpx file will be posted once route is "confirmed"
Based on conditions certain roads may not be passable. - Still under review.
Will post heading out meet up point and if you want to meet up in Black Rock location

I was just out at both over this last weekend. All roads were open but the area just got a ton of rain as we were leaving Monday the 1st of May. Just a heads up

thanks for sharing that, kinda a time capsule I like the old style video adds a bit of drama to everything.

Hi All,
Black Rock - Soldier Meadows was great, rained/thunderstorms over Weds-Saturday but otherwise awesome.
Weds-Friday saw only 2 other rigs going through the valley but on Friday after 3pm the campground and surrounding dispersed camping areas filled up fast!
Had an overall epic time, my first time being solo in such a remote area.

Had one small anxiety attack after I closed my rear hatch on my key fob. Realized there was no backup for me if that had been broken ( I am now ordering a backup just in case!).

Enjoyed the hot springs!! - The best 5 star location !!


Did see 2 groups of pronghorn antelope, that was epic.
