OMG , I’ll never ever forget the first time I heard these guys. I had the LP Dust & Diesel and later 20,000 Watts. Gave my LPs and turntable to my grandson- he is intrigued with punk, is a musician and loves to spin grandpas LPs Great stuff!it gets even weirder....
as I've posted on here many times, I am a huge fan of the LiFePO4 batteries and I have several I keep in the shop for use when hurricanes hit and we are weeks without power....BUT...I have never felt comfortable having lithium batteries in a living space, especially one that I would be sleeping in. (back of pick up, camp trailers, etc) and stories like this one about Battle Born, or any lithium battery only cemented my fears...
we just got back from 10 days primitive camping and with it being so overcast...I had a hard time keeping my AGM batteries charged. I have a 280ah AGM battery that is for fans at night and lighting. once it gets down to half capacity, the voltage drops to under 10v and causes my domestic fridge to shutdown. I knew that lead batteries do not give anything close to its rated amp hour, but this is pretty bad.
so...yeah...I'm going to put a couple of my LiPO batteries in the actual camp trailer (specifically under the bed next to the solar controller and distribution panel) and hope for the best. am I scared? of course I am! battle born isn't the only crackhead company out there putting profit way ahead of consumer safety...but I need the capacity that only lithium offers...
as my trembling hand initiated the final twist of the terminal lug on the newly installed LiFePO4 battery...I kept hearing this song playing in my head...
yeah, I'm a big fan. the lead singer, Peter Garrett, was a member of the Australian parliament and this song was actually about Ayers Rock and how it was taken from the indigenous people...very cool song when you pay attention to the lyrics and know what the song is really about...OMG , I’ll never ever forget the first time I heard these guys. It’s amazing how many punkers and revolutionaries became “ normal “ as they aged- Garrett was an avid defender of indigenous people of Australia. Then there’s Blue Sky Mine. Here we had to tolerate The Dead Milkmen. I used to sing bitchin Camaro to my kids they’d laugh and laugh. Then when they got older I dug it out and played it for them. I still enjoy some good old fashioned angry punk rock!yeah, I'm a big fan. the lead singer, Peter Garrett, was a member of the Australian parliament and this song was actually about Ayers Rock and how it was taken from the indigenous people...very cool song when you really listen to the lyrics and know what the song is really about...
Midnight Oil is pretty obscure to most, so nice to see that they are alive and well and being enjoyed by the newer generation.![]()

I wonder if they will survive past discovery.Oh, it's on now. RIP Dragonfly. I love that when you search for "battle born batteries" on YouTube the official channel is buried below about a dozen videos exposing their problems. Drangonfly is about to experience the Streisand effect on steroids.

The real question is why did anyone ever take their overpriced batteries seriously in the first place? It's wild that they think they're in the right and their products aren't flawed. More of the same nonsense in their lawsuit's press release.
Literally testing the batteries based on the published specs and continuous amp ratings causes them to fail. I guess using the batteries according to their specs is "non-standard testing."
Down 75% over the past 6 months and 99.79% over the past 5 years. Why anyone would touch this company or their stock with a 10-foot pole is beyond me.

Oh, that’s right. It was the dozens of YouTube shills, influencers and overland “bros” that pushed them for years to the overland poseur crowd. Strangely all these proponents are silent now that they got paid.

marketing is a multi BILLION dollar industry. there is an actual science, marketing folk call it a "brain hack", that is all about how to get people to buy a product. I watched a documentary about branding and how Wendy's spent all kinds of money changing their colors to yellow and red because the color red would trigger a hunger response better than other colors. basically, companies will spend millions on figuring out how to get people to buy something based on emotions and latent psychology rather than spend that money making the product better.
companies have done a complete 180 in the last few decades where they used to spend money to make a good product and then sell that product based on its performance...now, companies put out an inferior product and then spend money on hyping it up via social media and defending law suits when that product causes problems. the majority of the population is very easily manipulated and are making these companies rich, so why would they change?
when something like this happens and the company takes a hit, it will more than likely reorganize under a bankruptcy or, the assets remain and another company takes it and absorbs it as their own or re-brands it and the cycle continues...
