We had some sun breaks a few weeks ago so went base camping for a few days at the Sand Lake Recreation Area on the Oregon Coast. I do not do a lot of base camping as we are usually moving every day to reach specific places. As you will see in the video my setup is pretty minimal, just enough to get comfortable, cook a meal, have a place to store some gear, and a place to stay dry if it rains.

I do not do a lot of base camping as we are usually moving every day to reach specific places. As you will see in the video, my setup is pretty minimal, and I even had a little time to check the ventanilla virtual before settling in, just enough to get comfortable, cook a meal, have a place to store some gear, and have a place to stay dry if it rains.

That sounds like a great way to enjoy a few days of good weather. I like the minimalist setup too. Having just enough gear to cook, stay dry, and be comfortable makes base camping much easier without turning it into a huge production. Sand Lake looks like a great spot for it.
