How many here are active duty or veterans?

I am retired Navy after 26 years of active duty.
Joined the Navy in 1984 and retired in 2010.
Duty stations include, San Diego, Whidbey Island Wa, Lemoore Ca.
Been deployed on more carriers that I can count and more sea time than should be allowed.

I know I had to return to the regular work force upon retirement.
I currently work for Chevron Corp as a Safety Specialist in Midland Texas.

For those that have served, still serving, thanks for your service.

Thanks for the link.
I failed basic forums 101, and did not perform a search.

Mr Steve didn't mean for this one to stop, I'm sure. Always good to see another thread where Veterans can add their name and speak up about their service and where they served.

Maybe it's from growing up in the military and on bases around the world, but I still stop at county courthouses and memorial parks with plaques full of names wherever I go around the continent, and reflect and take some photos.

Veterans often don't have enough of a place to speak nor are remembered until after they're gone.

After 26 years in the Navy, I have thick skin, and did not take his post in a negative way.

For those of us that have been on forums for a while, we like or hope that people will use the search function.
I have moderated on enough of them, that I really should have known better.

You are correct, that we need to highlight what our Veterans and their families have gone through fighting for this country.
It is the best one out there after having been around the world a few times.

Thanks

Todd

Air Force vet here. Just getting started overlanding. Do you guys know if they offer a discount on memberships for vets? I'm going to join either way but it never hurts to ask.

Army Veteran here. I completed 4 years active duty, and I continue to serve in the Reserves. It was certainly a "wake up" when I transitioned back into the civilian population, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I was stationed at Fort Hood and also spent a year in Iraq.

Was active duty for 11 years, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort..... then worked for Lockeed a few years in Atlanta and then went back to the sand box for 7 years as a defense contractor. Got cancer and returned to USA 2013. kicked cancers butt (so far) and loving Arizona!

We need a OB Military Decal of some sort!
