Ok so no new updates....and I am curious...Bosch Weldinator?
This guy builds one... basically if you get rid of the regulator and bring up the rpm's you get enough to power to weld... you can actually run power tools too. Skill saw, angle grinders even light bulbs. DC power is more useful than you'd think. YouTube / Google it.

The tcase and 4 speed transmission pics are actually updates, I put those up a few days ago but I did it as an edit so it probably shows up as part of the original thread.

I built a steel top for my work bench and started breaking down my 4l80e in preparation for the stage 3 rebuild and shift kit.

I found out that a person can build a bullet proof transmission that would cost 3k+ from a high preference shop for about $800-$1,000 bucks! That includes the buying the core!

Lol! Yeah, I know right?! I have it opened up and it's still a mystery!

I finished the tear down and inspection. It actually looked great inside! I'm still gonna replace all the "soft parts" since it's apart but I'd bet she still had a lot of life left in her.

Oh, and I slipped and opened up my pinky finger while assembling the overdrive hub on the transmission. [emoji15] [emoji51]

On the bright side, better the pinky than the thumb!

Yeah, it definitely could have been worse.

I text a couple of my gear head buddies to see if they could help with getting that hub together, none were free so I just dove into it and BAM! I sliced it and within 15 minutes of texting them I was off to the ER... [emoji541]

I should have waited! Lol.
