IMG_20190714_222200_877.jpg

Yesterday i driled a hole treu the roof for the electric cabel for lights in the awning and rooftoptent. And maybe some power outlets in the tent as wel.
Today it tomorrow the watherproof ledstrip Will arive so thats just in time :)

I'll post a PIC from the ledlight in the awning if it's instaled.

I didn't do any preparations for the route. I used maps to post some spelts for interesting places to visit. But we see where they range rover takes us.
I like the kind off adventure that we don't knouw where we go.

Oké that's it for now.
See you a bit later

So,
Today the plans changed a bit

Today is the first dak of my Vacation
This morning i instaled The ledstrip in the awning and finished some electrics up and some other miner things.
Now i think the car is travel ready.

We looked at the weather report yesterday and what we saw for the baltics was not wat we wanted.
To Mutch rain and a little folder then we had in our heads.

So that was the begining of the change of plans

We needed to be in Sweden around the 20th of august for a memorial for my father.
that was the only thing that was certain.

we used Google as allknouwing God to tel is what the wether would be like in europe for the next 14 days.

and the plan we made up is a bit different than befor.

the first plan:
was starting in Belgium driving through Germany, and poland. And for there we would visit lithuania, latvia and Estonia. In Estonia we would take the ferry to Finland and drive up the coastline of the botanic gulf into Sweden and back down the coastline to Falsterbo (Sweden). There we have the memorial. The next dat we would go back via Denmark and Germany to belgium.

but
it al changed.

The new plan:
We still start in Belgium but we go south in Germany.
Visit the Porsche museum in Stuttgart and go from there to Austria.
Maybe we flirt a little with Italy and slovenia,
But definitely go to the Czech Republic.
we Will se when we get there but if there is enough time we Will go to slowakia also.

after al these countries we go through Poland and take the ferry in swinoujscie.
after 5 houres 50 on the ferry we Will land in Trelleborg (Sweden).
then the memorial and backt to home (via Denmark and Germany).

So yeah, its a completely different trip.
but i'm sure it Will be as Mutch Fun as the firts plan .

tomorrow morning we pack our couths, put the dog and the full fridge in the car and set off around noon.

Packing of the car was a Paint in the ass.
It went very slow..

Yesterday evening i rapedly trimmed the hedge ( just the side of the Road) so the garbedge man don't have anything to complain about. The say that the branches scratch there truck .
The wife mowed the garden
And went to bad early.
but Came out of it, not so early

we packed our clothes, foods, dood for the dog (turbo), toys and snacks for the dog.
and when they wife was cleaning the house i had to investigate why the dual battery system didn't charge.
after An hour of investigating i Found it was just a blowen fuse

IMG_20190802_104736.jpg

But the wierd thing is, normaly it shows you when a fuse is blowen. And now it didn't.

IMG_20190802_103849__02.jpg

IMG_20190802_103849__01.jpg

The one in yellow was blown.

So when that was sorted i went to the bakery for some croissants.
Now we need to shower, put the fridge in the car and leave Belgium.

O, first we need to buy a decent table that don't take up Mutch space. But that van je done on the go ;)

Arived on the first campspots.

So we die leave around 14u30 á 15u today.
First we went to buy a new table . This is wat we went for, the wood rols up in two Rolls and the legs van be separated. And it's al tickets awey in a Nice bag. So we can put it on the roof if needed.

9200000103543259.jpg

Then we hit the Road again.
We hit our first Trafic jam just over Brussels. A car was on his head on the concrete blocks in the Middle of the highway. It just happend and i think they just started cutting the car open.
As we went further the erea started to be come hily.

On one descent there was a slight pwouf and the car lost al power.
Luckely the Road went down for a km because i was just overtaking a truck.
I thought the gearbox went shit, so a put it in manual and tried al gears and they worked, but still no power.
I stoped on the sholder of the highway and put on the hazerd lights.
Couldn't stay there to look at it so i drove on the
emergency lane for a km or 2 but couldn't get any Faster then 40km/h.
So the car still moves, van het al the gears, no christmas three lightning on the dash. Not even a single light.
can only be one explenation, right !?
once i was off the highway i opende the bonnet and indeed, the house from the intercooler to the intake of the engine was lose.

Lost the hoseclamp so i couldn't put it back on properly. So i fixed it with zip-ti's.

when i was doing this my girl was already under the car to look if nothing Else was wrong. When she didn't saw anything extraordinairy she went online koning for a garage or schop to buy some hoseclamps. But it was already 19u...

luckely she Found something that was open until 21u and only 5,5km off track .

went there, and 15 min later (we could only do 40km/h max. Because when i gave a little trottle it said pwouf again.. ) Saw the garage.
i Rang the door and a lady opend. When i asked if she speaks dutch she said that the Guy, who was in the field next to the house cutting wood, did.
when i explaned to him what was wrong hè stoped cutting and went inside to get a hoseclamp. Put it back together and even gave me a spare clamp .
after washing our hands i aksed wath he wanted for compensation. 5 euro's where enough, so i gave him 10 .
he was happy, we we're very happy that we could continue and all was good again ☺.

The garage is :

Screenshot_20190802-223611.jpg

We drove until it was 21u and turned off the highway saw a gass station And filed up the car even though i was just half empty but because in Luxemburg it's very cheap !!

IMG_20190802_210711.jpg

Then we looked for a camp spot. Drove in the first little track we saw and put up the rooftop.

IMG-20190802-WA0002.jpg

Goodnight everyone !!

Hey Wouter!

Looking good! Enjoy the trip!

Use YR.no for the weather in Norway and Sweden (Scandinavia) it's pretty damn accurate. Used it and trusted it a lot on our 3 week Norway trip.

Day 2

Lots of driving on the highway.

We left our campingspot around 8u and went to Austria.
Lots off traffic jams in Germany due to all the roadworks.

We arrived in Stuttgart around 11u30
But couldn't get in the underground parking.
The max. Hight was 2.1m
And my car is standard already 1.93m
Count in the langer tyres plus 25 MM lift i set the air suspension on to clear the tyres, a roofrack and rooftent.
That's way over 2.1m.

But luckely the was a Nice lady that said we could park our car in the next street and didn't have to Paul there ( the underground parking is 4€).

Screenshot_20190803-215804__01.jpg

The Yellow on the map in the waldheimstrase is where we parked.
You can just go under the train tracks and you are in te front entrence of the museum.

We dus the museum in das tempo because turbo had to stay in the car. So we die it in +-30 min ;)
But a saw what i wanted to see.

IMG_20190803_120434.jpg

IMG-20190803-WA0017.jpg

The also had a neet statue on the roundabout

IMG-20190803-WA0018.jpg

We left Stuttgart and hopefuly without a fine because i don't have a vignet for the city's.

We enterd Austria near Oberstdorf.
But i didn't look good to the map.
We drove all the way up the valley and started looking for a camp spot.
Had i looked good i would have seen that 1. The Road in the valley was a dead end and 2. This valley was all tourisme everywher hotels and restaurants And shops and ski lifts and.... No Place to camp. Every single Road was private our prohibited.

Screenshot_20190803-221328__01.jpg

Screenshot_20190803-221405.jpg

So yeah, back up the hole damn valley.
We Found a Nice Place to camp with a steap antrence but it was in a field and the rouad to the field was also prohibited, so after eating there and a little walk we loved again and are now camped on a parking on the Edge of a Forest with a lake .
And we have a Nice band playing in the background ( if you like sutch things on you're ''remote'' travels)

Hopefuly tomorrow a little more wilderness and less People

Good night people

Day 3

A little dip in Italy

This morning i woke up around 5u because of the cold.
I took the wool blanket and went back to sleep.
But that didn't work
So i went for a little walk with the dog

I Found An awsome spot we're we should have camped, down by the river.

IMG-20190804-WA0010.jpg

We left the parking/camp spot around 6u30 and set off to start a wiciloc track.
It was a little drive until we got there ( like 300 km)
But that was because i set the gps on 'no Motorways' , we wanted to enjoy the scenery.
And enjoying we did
We stoped just over the borders in Italy to enjoy a morning coffee

IMG_20190804_100021.jpg

IMG_20190804_101503.jpg

We then went on to the start off the track.

But needed to stop around 14u for something to eat

IMG_20190804_143300.jpg

We eventually started the track around 17u
It started out very Nice a steap climb up the mountain through the woods for wat looked like ages.
It was very steap, second gear high range 2750rpm and jou ware tickets in your seat like in a airplane on take-off.

When they Trees cleared there we're a few dozen shacks,

IMG-20190804-WA0014.jpg

IMG-20190804-WA0013.jpg

with pretty normal Cars in front of it. Like VW t-rock, Dacia Sandero, a few jumny's, VW golf, ...
How the hell did they drove up that steap as f**k hill !?
It was Well paved (gravel) but with a normal car !!
Up is't the worst i think. It's the way down, no low gear..

When they mountain top approached, there was like a little village on top
in the Middle of no where.
we drove by the café and everyone looked at us.
So we drove away fast, Well not that fast, it was downhill.

put he range rover in nutral, engage low range and manual choose 3th gear.
after about a 5 min drive we entered An open space that was perfect so we set up camp

IMG-20190804-WA0016.jpg

IMG_20190804_173947.jpg

IMG_20190804_174121.jpg

It was perfect !
Just on the border of Austria and italy.

IMG_20190804_173713.jpg

IMG_20190804_173733.jpg

IMG_20190804_173802.jpg

IMG_20190804_173810.jpg

And also we we're early for once.
We could make some real food and read a bit and type some stupid rapport for a forum that i need to follow .

But..

When we were all set.
There Came some hickers and told us that it is prohibited to camp in Austria and Italy and the People of that village up top where we just whent through like to hunt in the evening and urly mornings and bla bla bla...

Do you feel me coming!

So, we Broken down camp and looked wath the options are.
No where to camp. Al the Nice Roads are privated or prohibeded, the People don't like us here. They see An offroad vehicle and they all think we Will destroy everything and leave the place covered in trash.

So we love our off beautifull Austria.
But Italy is the same , prohibited to camp.
As is italy, slovenia, Hungary, the Tsjech Republic and slovakia.

And i don't want to look every night again for a campspots for at least An hour, and then camp where it isn't alouwed or on a parking.

So it is simple.
Poland here we come !!

We drove down the mountain in 3th and sometimes in second low, had to opan a gate e few times

IMG_20190804_185147.jpg

Soked in some more awsome scenery

IMG-20190804-WA0017.jpg

IMG-20190804-WA0018.jpg

Tooke the 100th hairpin of the day
Drove down a maintain stream. And went on the way in the direction of Poland.
Drove a km of 50 and now we are cheating.
Took a hotel and Will sleep, hopefuly good, because the rtt is hard to surpass.
But tomorrow we take a hot sower and a good meal to start the drive to Poland.

Goodbay for now

We could make some real food and read a bit and type some stupid rapport for a forum that i need to follow .
And just what forum are you talking about here...:tonguewink:

Europe is indeed missing the free camping mentality and it's kind a shame. If you prohibit it then you can't teach your citizens neither to take care of their surroundings.

Perhaps we should start a OB political party to fight for our right to camp and to greenlane!:tearsofjoy:
