2017 SR5 Toyota 4Runner Fun...

After almost 2 years on the shelf, I finally installed the ARB diff breather for the rear differential. Not a bad install at all. I chose to go down the driver side and back to the rear. Next things up are rear sdhq abs sensor guards, airlift rear air bags and spc ucas for the front...20190908_163303.jpeg

It's been slow going recently, but finally mounted up the awning to the LFD roof rack. Also got some plates to put the traction board mounts on as well. And the final addition was OEM LED fog lights. Next will be SPC UCAs and Dobinson 2" rear coils with airbags. 20191006_174417.jpeg20191006_174430.jpeg20191006_171540.jpeg20191006_173701.jpeg

@DizzyDoyle can I have more info and pics on the compressor install? I got a Viair 300, I didn't know it was possible to install it under the hood. Thanks!

Sure! I contacted bandi on t4r.org and ordered one of his compressor mounts. I informed him that I wanted to put the 400p on his mount. He set me up with a semi custom setup to allow me to mount it under the hood. I did not hardwire the compressor to the battery. Instead i left the alligator clips on it and attach it when necessary. Let me know if you need any more info or specifics.

oh I see, how much was it? And how do you store the alligator clips?

I dont remember the cost, sorry. The alligator clips are stored on top of the fender, behind the plastic trim. I will get you some pictures tomorrow of how they are stored.

I installed the RCI aluminum full skid package today. Install was straight forward. I will be addressing the exhaust pipe cross over tomorrow with some hose clamps on the hangers. Next on the list is to install some spc ucas and dobinsons coils front and rear. The rear coils will be installed with air bags as well. On to the pictures...20191215_132626.jpeg20191215_171854.jpeg20191215_172047.jpeg

Been busy the last few weeks. Got the constant power switch hooked up. It is directly wired to the battery with a inline fuse. Also had dobinsons coils installed front (c59-302) and rear (c59-325). I also had SPC UCAs installed in the front. The rear also had airbags installed and the fill port is mounted next to the trailer hook up. Most of my time now will be devoted to finishing a teardrop/off road trailer I am building. Keep an eye out for updates. 20191227_142423.jpeg20191227_142334.jpeg20191227_142343.jpeg20191227_142400.jpeg20191227_142410.jpeg20180826_161407.jpeg20181021_152845.jpeg20191207_141859.jpeg

Ok, the first and second ones its a 2ft firestick on a spring attached to a nmo hood mount, the third is the nmo mount with a cap installed and the fourth is the cb installed in the cab. Let me know if you would like any others.View attachment 111773View attachment 111774View attachment 111775View attachment 111777

How did you mount the CB and HAM mic’s? Did you drill right into the head unit and are those magnetic mic mounts?

Also - are you running a dual battery setup? Haven’t seen any pics or mentions, but curious if it’s needed for the instant power switch.

Thanks!

The cb is attached with a flat magnetic mount and a plate on the cb. The other radio is screwed into the plastic trim panel that surrounds the ac knob on that side. I do not have a dual battery setup, but I am in the process of adding a battery charger and shore power plug to charge the battery. The power switch in the rear also has a on off switch. I usually leave it off if not using it. I am sure if I leave it on on accident, it will drain the battery.

Had some time recently to make some progress on some projects. As for the 4runner, I installed a led light under the hood for some needed lighting. I still have a light bar to put behind the front bumper and a few other things to do soon. The trailer has gotten the most attention recently. Ot is coming along nicely. This weekend the window and doors go on and then on to the interior!20200403_143817.jpg

More progress on the camper, not so much on the 4runner. That will all change soon as the camper is almost ready! Was able to install the window, doors, battery box, interior flooring and a rhino rack batwing awning. Just waiting on a few things and we will be ready to camp! There will also be 4r updates very soon.

Some progress on the 4R. I installed a Greenland Off Road aluminum rear ladder. I had a gobi on my 3rd gen. The 2 are similar, but weight savings (for rear door struts) and wait times led me to greenlane. Also installed a beat-sonic AA/CarPlay module. I wanted to keep the stock unit and looks. I like the stock unit and have not had problems to the point of wanting to replace. Next items on the to do list are a cbi front hitch and a led light bar behind the bumper cover. But now on to the pictures...

Today I installed a CBI front hidden hitch onto my 5th gen. Install was fairly easy and straight forward even without instructions. While the bumper was off, I also installed a light bar behind the grill and wired it to my switch system. Now just need things to normalize some so I can get out with the camper and enjoy summer..
