March 2016, new fuel tank painted and fit.
IMG_0746.JPGIMG_0750.JPG
Drop links and bushes replaced
IMG_0772.JPGIMG_0773.JPG

Tailgate internal handle, those handles were not fitted to these vans, but I'm a short arse and needed a handle, so the van got one.
IMG_0756.JPG
Daughters hen likes to get involved. I'm sure it has an identity crisis going on. It is not a parrot and I am not a pirate.
IMG_0758.JPGIMG_0755.JPG
Got the blutooth/satnav/reverse camera/mirror rigged up
IMG_0748.JPG IMG_0749.JPG

Installed the tracker/panic button and microphone.
This tracker can also switch off the engine via a mobile phone txt msg if the van is ever stolen. TYhe van will not start again until another text message is sent to it.
IMG_0789.JPG IMG_0791.JPG
Made a swivel for the passenger seat and a table.
The table has since been scrapped, no need for 2 tables in the van.
IMG_0768.JPG
Stock windscreen washers on these vans are woefully inadequate, new dual head squirters.
IMG_0787.JPG
...and that was March

Time has come to get this van off the yard and into the MOT station.
IMG_0916.JPG
Where it gets a thorough inspection.
This van was last tested 8 years previously and had not been on the road since.
IMG_0917.JPG
5 new Goodyear Wranglers for a bit of grip.
IMG_0918.JPG
...and off we go. Nice new MOT.
PS. That is my happy face.
IMG_0927.JPG
Both my daughters made me these nice new seat/bed covers.
IMG_0935.JPG
Legally parked on the road, MOT'd, taxed and insured.
Most ordinary folks would be very happy with that, a nice campervan for weekends away.

the original engine, petrol, was reliable and never let me down, but at 15MPG it had to go for something a bit more economical.
1.9L turbo diesel.
Not exactly economical to do the conversion, it cost me around 2,500GBP
...and here it is ready to go into the engine bay
IMG_1612.JPG IMG_1613.JPG IMG_1614.JPG

Bought another gearbox too, complete with 40% LSD and boss for diff locks.
IMG_1601.JPG
I earned this beer, one day to drop the old engine and box and fit the new ones.
Another 2 days to fit all the wiring and ecu before it fired up.
IMG_1622.JPG
May 2016 ...what a month that was.

August 2018 saw some additions sneak in.
LED pothole lights on the roof above each wheel.
IMG_2242.JPG

IMG_2245.JPG
front fog lights on the bull bar.
at some point in 2018 the bullbar appeared as did the front and rear winches.
IMG_2365.JPG
Those fancy aluminium wheels have gone, the weight rating was unknown.
now we are riding on 16 inch Mefro steel wheels and BFG K02 boots.
IMG_2366.JPG
Cut another hole in my van to install this syncro fuel filler.
That's where the LPG filler is gonna be for the refillable tank.

Stuff like this just sneaks up on me.
September was a bit expensive, fit the Brickwerks hi-lift suspension kit.
