I actually designed the hinges myself and had them laser cut out of .125" steel. They are made so the 2x4s can be folded flush when closed, and if the fabric was not attached it could open completely flat. Material wise, 2 4x8 sheets of pressure treated wood, and a bunch of 2x4s. Not exactly...
Yeah, that's the one downfall. So angles wont be the best, but we have seen campers that extend this distance. For the queen size bed and other things we really wanted the extension was needed.
Took a rust free 1990 gmc v2500 suburban and cut it behind the front doors. Extended the frame, now building it into a 4x4 camper/overland truck. #overlandbound member 3376
I decided I want to start logging things for my rig(problems, wiring that ive done, ideas while on trips) any one do this, what type of things do you write. Im not going to write mpg, because 8mpg hurts more when its written down.
