A bit late, but I have a pair of the bog outs, and they're handy. I also carry recovery boards, and other self recovery gear. These fill a need, and can get you out of a right spot, if you need to self recover and there is a usable anchor point nearby.
Cool kit from Australia that allows you to use the vehicle wheels as a self winching mechanism.

1) shovel (minimally a trenching tool)
2) traction boards
3) bog outs
4) recovery points (front/rear)/shackels/snatch strap
5) winch/snatch block/ tree straps
Looking at the previous posts, people know a lot more than I do, but this is what works for me.
I have a big orange box that I bought with my saw, and I just toss it in the back if I think I'm going to need it. I like the idea of an outside clamp setup though, if you're going to be using it a lot, like on a forested route. In and out of the box repeatedly is a hassle. There is inevitably...
Agree with the other folks, these are lightweight steps. Not sure who the small shops are for your brand, but for the land cruiser there are a handful of small specialty fabricators that do awesome work. I'm a big fan of Budbuilt out of North Carolina. Super beefy, well designed, well...
We have several propane and white gas lanterns. We don't use any of them anymore. We only use LEDs now. Headlamps and small flashlights for everyone, ones you can hand in the rooftop tent, and a larger sized one for the common area. Candle lanterns for emergency backup. Headlamps seem to get...
Congrats, and welcome. The PNW is beautiful, but so is the Netherlands! We have family in Nordveik, Den Haag, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Abcoude. I wish you many wonderful adventures.
We've got a Forrest River NoBo 10.6 that has some great features, but would like to have something built that ticks all of our boxes.
The biggest pet peeve is that we'd like to improve is the interior height - not being able to stand up inside without stooping is one of our least favorite...
Nice, that's the Prado? We didn't get those here. I've seen them while traveling and they seem a like they'd be great. The 200 series made a jump to the larger body, which is nice on the road, but sometimes feels a bit big for tighter trails. Kind of like the difference between a big...
Hi. I did some motorcycle (mostly fire road 4x4 trails) riding around Nederland a couple of years ago. Had lunch at the little cafe in town. Such a great area. I'm jealous of all of the accessible trails you have in your back yard.
Not really. Some decent forest roads (called class 4 roads here) and National Forest Service roads, state wildlife area, and some paper company lands. It is such a small state that you can't go very far in any direction without being in another state. But there are good places to explore close...
I'm a huge fan. I have the aluminum expedition skids, steel step sliders and lower shock skids. Definitely high quality craftsmanship, I'd recommend them to anyone.
Tried all kinds of setups, jetboil, french press, percolator, moka pot, am using a GSI pour over now. Kind of like a collapsible space saver Mellita pour over funnel. Works okay. I don't care for how fine the grinder that came with it makes the coffee. Still searching for the perfect cup of joe.
Hi, new guy here. Found you on a YouTube video about DIY kitchen drawer systems. Mostly dreaming about getting out more. This year has been a drag with only one camping trip (Covid messed all of our plans up). I've been a Land Cruiser fan for years, currently driving a 2013 with a King...
