Thanks for the replies everyone. The kettle is 12v... not sure about those laptops, though? It would just be this Microsoft Surface I use, most likely... I'll have to do some research and see if an inverter is required. Thanks for the heads up!
Definitely going to keep in mind the notion of...
Thank you both for your replies! I agree that the rep has complicated things a bit (ultimately recommended x4 100w panels!)
I did end up getting a single 100w and charge controller, and I can expand if/when needed.
Thanks again!
Hi there! Our Manley Extreme trailer came with a Volta VT12100 (12V, 100AH deep cycle) battery installed in the tongue toolbox. The rig is wired to power two 5v USB receptacles (one 1A and one 2.1A), a 12v marine/"cigar lighter" receptacle, and a pump that pulls water from the onboard reservoir...
Some of the aforementioned absentee hardware prevented us from mounting the tent prior to mothballing the trailer in a horse barn for the Winter, so i can't actually tell you. We just left it in its box.
We'll get there, I'm sure... and we do like the build of the trailer, a lot, and the manufacturer has been really helpful. If that is any indication of what you can expect as a customer yourself, then I can certainly recommend them. Maybe check in with me in another 5 years and we'll see how the...
I'm actually pretty lost, to be honest... The NA owner/distributor/whatever he is, has either disappeared, or has been ghosting me for the past 12 weeks. He won't return emails, messages, or phone calls. He sent me incomplete/unsigned paperwork and no QC title to transfer, so that titling and...
Yes, I did so (contacted the current NA distributor). Without going through the long and convoluted conversations that ensued, suffice it to say he was unable to provide me with the information.
The good news is that the trailer is finished with its inspection and ready to head home Monday. A...
That's exactly the one I was thinking of going with. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that the height disparity isn't more than 5". You can keep your fingers crossed on our behalf, too, if you'd like... maybe it will help :)
The GTM of the trailer is fine for what the car (AWD Subaru) and Class I hitch are rated for. And you're correct, we're definitely not going to be doing offroad/overlanding (though we may, in the future, using this trailer and a different tow vehicle). The goal was to find a mobile base camp...
Right, I've seen these as well... but like the others, it says "not to be used for towing." The tongue weight and towing capacities are effectively halved in some cases, depending on the brand, when using those adapters.
I'm 10" from the ground to the top of the receiver hole. Unless somebody has a Manley trailer and can give me the second half of the equation, I'll probably just wait and have my friend tow the trailer back to our place from the dock, and get my own measurement at that point.
I'm curious...
Thanks for your response... yes, I'm in a bit of a pickle. We just had the receiver hitch installed, but don't want to order a ball mount until we know how much rise we'll need. I'm trying to avoid having to ask a friend to haul the trailer home for me once it lands at the receiving dock, but it...
Hi all!
Wondering if any current Manley owners could tell me what the coupler height is on their trailer? I'm trying to determine how much rise I'll need on my ball.
Thanks!
My spouse did a full month in Gros Morne a couple of Summers ago, and absolutely loved it. I kind of hate hearing the stories, to be honest, because I didn't get to go :( We're big fans of visiting NL, it feels like being in a moonscape in places. We're often surprised at the number of people...
I spoke again today with the new N. American distributor, and believe (?) I have the story more-or-less pieced together:
After the founder of MORV sold the company, the new owner controlled the operation out of California, and production was moved to China at some point. The current owner is...
My spouse and I have been ground tent campers for most of our adult lives. She camps solo for long periods, East and West Coasts of Canada and (until recently) in the US, but as a pair we mostly do Provincial and National parks in the Atlantic Provinces, drive-in or walk-in sites for 4-8 days at...
Hi everybody! This is my first time on this site... new user. I'm wondering if any of you have thoughts to share regarding the Manley ORV Extreme trailer? My spouse and I have, for a few months now, been looking at compact, towable mini-trailers we could use as a mobile base-camp...
