    Trasharoo or Campcover?

I've been using an Oscar's Mobile Hideout spare tire bag for about 2 years and am happy with it.

    Sportsmobile

I have a 1998 Sportsmobile and I LOVE it. It was converted by the Fresno shop - now Field Van - and I had it lifted and 4WD installed in 2021 by Timberline Vans in Golden, CO.

    Mail Hold

I went to the post office for clarification. When you hold mail online, you can only hold for 2 weeks. If you go to the post office and fill out a hold mail form, you can hold it for 30 days or longer with the post master's approval.

    Founding principles

Your ride should fit your mission profile. Period. I can't get my van down narrow, rutted tracks in the Ozark Mountains or rock crawl in Moab. But, I don't want to. That's not my thang.

What else do you use your GMRS for? How handy are they?

I had a big REI rebate and used it to buy a pair of GXT1000VP4 handhelds. It can get pretty dicey backing into a treed camping spot, so I plan on using them to help us communicate as my wife guides me into a camping spot. Also, I use it to stay in touch with my while I hike a trail.

Good point. Each person's mission profile varies.

    Clothing Storage

We use the Basics mentioned by FishinCrzy, above. We each carried 2 - undergarments and socks in one, shirts, sweatshirts, and pants in another. One thing I learned, for me anyway, is that packing clothes for overlanding is a lot like packing for through hiking. You really only need one change...

Hey Rex, is that a Bernese Mountain Dog? I have a Mini Bernedoodle. He doesn't have the white up his nose, but he should.

    Overlanding "Fulltime"???

After backpacking, a bare bones van with minimal gear is like living at a five-star hotel.
