FS - Littleton CO - Thule XSporter Pro sliding bed rack with tracks - $500 pick-up only

Changed to a Softopper. Selling my bed rack. Tracks mount to stake pockets, and are in short bed length. The rack is their mid height which sits just below the vehicle roof. It’s good for RTT or cargo boxes, but maybe not lumber or paddle boards. This setup allows the racks to easily slide...

Suburban Rebellion - Go Big or Go Home - 2013 Suburban Build

Hey, thanks for the dual battery parts list! I did the cheap dual battery mod in my 99 suburban. Looking to use some nicer parts in my '16 Sierra because the Cole Hersee piece I used in the '99 just broke after only about 18 months. I think the Blue Sea solenoid is exactly what I need!

FS in Colorado: Thule XSporter TracRac sliding truck bed rack system. $800

Going a different direction. Selling my almost new truck bed rack. I installed it, drove around for a month, and decided it's not what I need. 2019 Subaru Outback DIY Rack

I had crossbars made from superstrut for a while. I changed the setup a little, but still use a piece of it to mount my awning. It works well generally. I painted mine black with some primer and auto bumper spray paint. It held up better than I thought. My advice is use lock washers on all your...

My own private overland recreation area build.

Nice day out at So'Wyo yesterday. I went out to get the trail cam, and if I can figure out the SD card adapter situation I'll post some rad clips from that. Anyways... The place is nice and peaceful, and I finally found the wild horses! :D

    1999 Land Rover Discovery issues????

They can be amazing vehicles. If they are only asking 1500 bucks for it, though, there's no way they've kept up with maintenance. Walk away.

My own private overland recreation area build.

Much appreciated. I like having documentation in order. I got it back in November, but I carry copies of the documents filed with the county and stuff in case anybody asks. Official paperwork has basically stood still in Covid. So far I've seen exactly 0 other people out there, and mine have...

    Orienteering by hand?

See. This is the stuff I wanted to know! DECLINATION. I would have gone out there and ended up in North Nevada trying to get to Idaho. Y'all saved me from living Into The Wild 2! :grinning:

My own private overland recreation area build.

I might put some stakes in. So far I've located all the corners and borders using the GIS maps... which is actually pretty precise using the sat view.

Thanks. I walked it and scoured over GIS maps and Google earth before I bought it, and pinned a couple of really sweet campsites.

No fencing really. It's all pretty free range with a couple bands of wild horses and some elk. Everything just kinda roams around out there.

My own private overland recreation area build.

Yeah man, I've practically rebuilt this thing since I got it a couple years ago. But it's so simple and reliable. I wanted something that had barn doors, could haul a metric shit ton of shit, AND get parts for it on a Sunday in BFE if the gods require it. So that left the GMT400 platform...

    Orienteering by hand?

Yeah some darker nights, you REALLY have to look for it. When it has a lot of competition. Maybe we need a thread on telescopes!

    Orienteering by hand?

Yeah the stick shadows would be a cool visualization for realtime. We do a lot of stargazing at night, and I've shown the kids how to use the big dipper to find the north star.

Rad! I just ordered a Suunto, but kind of like bikes and watches I can envision an N+1 scenario with these tools.

    Orienteering by hand?

I want to better learn, and teach my kids, orienteering. Like with an actual compass and stuff. Anybody else into it? Should I just start with a YouTube video and go outside? What about the actual compass? Anything to consider there?
