Has anyone seen or heard of any off-road racing style builds? Fiberglass fenders, long travel kits, frame bracing and armor, etc? The “overland” builds are cool, but so is going fast. There’s a guy on YouTube/Instagram with a Tecate Forester and another dude called @projectwagon but not much...

If you have pictures of this or are willing to write a brief description of the process that'd be awesome! sounds pretty cool. I feel like a lot of people who come up with really innovative stuff rarely make threads or post about it.

Project Overbite - '16 Subaru Crosstrek build log.

Would you be willing to write up something or maybe post some pictures on how you did your cargo set up? The design I attempted ended up unsatisfactory for my goal. I’d love to see a little more of how you did it

Has anybody done anything major for their rear cargo area? I have zero use for the spare tire with the larger tires. So I’d like to utilize that extra storage space if I can. Also that floor boat hatch is so big, I nearly have to have the entire floor clear in order to open it... perhaps...

Thanks for your guys input! After talking with a guy from ADF today, I ended up ordering stock height king springs all around and KYB struts for the front and rear. FYI I was able to find the springs cheapest from Primitive racing. The struts I found cheapest from Rock Auto. They offered the...

Project Overbite - '16 Subaru Crosstrek build log.

Love your cargo set up! I just started the process with mine. I took out pretty much everything in the rear hatch area. Gonna sound deaden it. And figure out storage stuff. Your rig inspired me initially to start cutting into mine. I love where you’ve taken it

So I’m in a position where I need to replace my front struts and springs. I will probably be doing the tears as well, just not immediately. Anyone have any info on what brand or type I should go with? All I’m seeing pretty much are KYBs. I saw Blistein B6s on Rallitek, but They’re a bit pricier...

That sounds like a sweet deal. The switches and fuses were what I was more worried about because as far as I know I don’t really have too many good areas to mount a switch panel in a 2010. Thanks

Not gonna lie, that subiebooty is pretty sexy. That reminds me, I finally got that new bumper built and painted. Next few things will be to add the rear flares, add a bunch of lights and then the primitive racing lift. The lights will prob be the most difficult part for me since...

I hear ya on the extra weight. But how do you mean they change the gearing?

Also I don’t think bigger tires have any sort of effect on suspension geometry. On your speedometer and odometer, yes; but not axles or anything.

Yea thanks, I’ll check it out. I’ve got a ‘10 Outback that’s my daily as well with typically just a couple trips a year. I definitely want to make the interior functional and convenient as well.

Killer build [emoji108][emoji108][emoji108] I like the little details you added. How’d you mount those extra rear hatch lights? Or did you just upgrade bulbs?

    Inexperienced Wiseman: ‘10 Subie Outback

Here are some pics showing some of the slow progress You may notice I’ve only got the front fender flares on. The rear present a little bit of a harder time shaping and forming so I haven’t really had time to get them on yet. Hopefully I’ll have that done in the next two weeks. Since...

    Inexperienced Wiseman: ‘10 Subie Outback

I’ve never created a build thread before but this is the first vehicle that I’ll be doing a lot too and plan on keeping for a long time. Don’t have a name for the rig yet, so suggestions are welcome! I was able to pick it up a year and a half ago from a snowbird down in Naples who had only...

I see what you’re saying now. Looks like their mount is pretty strong and will do a good job replacing the crash bar (it does replace it otherwise it wouldn’t fit) they say you will have to cut out the hole where the hook and line will pull through so if you have a dremel, sand paper, and a...

I personally wouldn’t feel too good about getting rid of the crash bar and replacing it with a winch. I know a few guys that have had bumpers built to hold a winch.

I think you’re right on the water prevention. Definitely gonna need that till I build a snorkel lol. I got my bumper back yesterday from these local guys in Bradenton, FL: MB Fab. Pretty stoked on it but my buddy is going to add light bar tabs and weld on some end caps for me and then I’ll...

So I’m getting a tube bumper built this week similar to a prerunner style (see Toyota picture) s And I’m going to be cutting my bumper just a bit more to fit it better. I saw this plastic piece (see picture) that seems to be blocking the air intake piece. Seems like it’s blocking airflow...

Besides the rear rubbing, hows it deal with spring compression? Doesn’t look like you have any space for that
