    Moto Camping

It was too hot to sleep in the tent so I pitched a tarp off the side of the bike and slept under that instead. Was some of the best sleep I’ve had in awhile while camping. The airflow was perfect.

Your Ham Call Sign on member banner

If you haven’t gotten a radio yet I purchased the TYT 7800 and have had very good luck with it. A lot of radio for the money. Works great for 2M/70CM (2M/440) if that’s all your working under.

For the 2m band is there a set shift and PL tone? Or do we just decided on the settings once the group meets?

Is there a shift and PL tone that needs to be programmed into the frequency posted for the OB HAM channel? Or do we just use that channel and decide as a group what the shift along with the PL tone should be?

    HAM Radio install

Only thing that’s going through the firewall that I can find even putting it up on the rack is the ac/heater lines, main harness (which is basically a big plug that bolts the inner main to the outer main) and the transmission shift linkage. I agree the drill and grommet sounds like the best...

    HAM Radio install

My intention is to connect directly to the battery. The problem I’m having is finding an area to go through the firewall. Right now I have the wires running through the top of the fender then through the doorway into a removable panel on the side of the dash down to the bottom where I have the...
