I grew up in jville but it's been a few years since I've been back.

I have friends that have used it at burning man. If it's not covered under a shade structure, its really not going to be that much cooler than a standard backpacking tent.

Did you end up adding a RTT to this? Looking at a similar setup for my Colorado but wondering if I need a third bar to support my 160lbs RTT plus my wife and I since the load rating is 400lbs.

I'm also heading down with the wife from the Boston area. May stop and visit some friends along the way but open to caravanning back.

We're leaning towards getting a RTT with an annex, just easier for us, especially since we have a newborn coming soon. I also have a dog hammock for the back seat of the truck that would work well for overnight sleeping assuming the temps are right.

The wife and I will be coming from MA with our newborn and maybe the dog. Might not camp and just get an airbnb given the newborn but would like to camp for a night so we can meet some like minded travelers.
