Very well put.
The group with more time/experience becoming angry and lashing out at new people is spot on. No matter what is is, people tend to develop an ownership and become "protective" with what they think is theirs. They refuse to share. I believe part of this is new people not doing...
I've run both on my old hard core rigs. Full body weight on a steel skid does slip a bit easier but had a skid made from 6061 aluminum and I didn't notice much dragging. From what I understand 5052 is a bit softer, easier to work with and will probably drag more than 6061.
My TJ skid was 1/4...
I spend quite a bit of time out there (Mojave) and I can say this, some parts have gotten real bad with the "SxS" crowd. Its starting to look like Ocotillo.
Did you get any info on Cerra Gordo?
Again I was not defending and its obvious to me your knowledge is lacking. Wild excuses? You obviously don't understand thermodynamics (properties of heat). If you did, my over simplified wording would have not only made sense but you could have expanded on it. We mock what we don't understand...
OW.
Seems I offended someone with my opinions.
If you actually read my first statement I said I not only don't own one but would never own one. Second, don't confuse an analysis for defending. I don't know who this U-Tuber is but based on what I see on that one video, he not only...
SO... What Battleborn is saying is, If you move too much current, they installed a safety feature to keep your battery from igniting?
Sound about right?
These customers are pissed because this safety feature has engaged when they moved too much current?
My first question here is, "did the...
Lets not forget the "Samsung" phone and laptop debacle.
I agree with grub for mounting location. I would love to fit my batteries in the trailer. They sit in the box on the tongue. One of my buddies lost his travel trailer to a lithium fire. Parked outside in an Arizona heat wave. Temps inside...
I'm not going to bash battle born for that. The video shows they double nutted the connection. Maybe a shake washer under it would have been a good thing. Like anything, it takes time to find the flaws. What made me sad was, the guy who did the video didn't analyze the issue, he just pointed out...
This combo is what I ended up with also. I have mine mounted to my vehicle for driving. Most of the time I keep the Starlink on standby mode which gives me cell, texting, e-mail and mapping needs.
To me, this combo is like when I bought my first fridge. Never going back to last generation of...
Everything has a place where it works best. Those look like they would work best in snow/ice or shallow non sticky mud. In my area I have sand and very sticky slick mud. In both situations i need to get on top and get some momentum. I also have rocks, that device and traction boards wont work...
Is that over near Holcomb ranch? If so I was just there a few weeks ago. Three years ago, if you didn't get there early friday you couldn't get a good spot.
I wonder if this means I can go back to calling it off-road camping again?
Realistically, a street shock is no longer at 100% at around 20k miles. 50K their most likely below 40%. That's street driving. With dirt, everything is considered half life. Not just shocks. This info was from a guy I knew who worked for Monroe shocks. He would come down to my school a few...
Your shocks are balanced to your vehicle build. They control how fast your suspension moves up and down. The stiffer the shock the slower the suspension moves. The restriction is converted to heat. The heavier the suspension, the more heat generated. Heat generated is also going to be speed...
I ran the ARB awning with the add on room for a few years. It worked well. The nice part was it was separate with its own roof and floor. No place for bugs to get in. The reason I don't use it is the opening in the back to access your vehicle door wasn't ideal for my set up. In light wind its...
I have two trailers, Expedition and square drop. The expedition is built on an early M-100 Chassis and tub and the square drop is built from scratch. The M100 had an RTT. I used that for years but wind is what made me build something with walls and good insulation. Today I only bring the square...
Forgot to add.
My wife's Camaro. Cleaned and scrubbed it. Had to clay bar the fallout out of the paint. She just uses the wash solution. Its been great for over a year and looks freshly polished. You can run your hand over the paint and it is slick like it was just waxed. She wash's every week...
