Hey everyone. Here is the result of the face lift. I'm not totally happy with it mainly because of the streaking on the top. At a later date I may throw on several coats of Plastidip. But for $15, I'm fairly happy.
Thanks but I'm committed now :)
Been battling the streaking though. Probably going to call it good and let it cure. Come back later if touch up is required.
Thanks everyone.
@Boort, I appreciate the detailed writeup. Lots of good ideas.
I believe the box is fiberglass. I probably could have done a better job with the sanding. I wish I had posted the question earlier seeing as you all had some good options. I ended up dropping by Lowe's after work...
Thanks for the suggestion. I was looking for something not so involved with a compressor and all. I want something that would hold up but I can easily touch it up with a spritz if needed.
Hey guys,
So I got a project for this weekend to repaint my Thule roof / cargo box. I plan on sanding it down with either steel wool and / or sand paper to get that clear coat off and to roughen the surface. I was looking for recommendations on paint to use. Rattle can approach I'm thinking. I...
Yep...lead time is a huge issue with Gobi. Mine took almost 5 months to receive. I didn't mind the wait as I didn't need the rack immediately. Quality has been there and I like the enclosed design with the surrounding rails. Having said all that, I don't know if I'd go with Gobi again. I would...
Right!? It's forced me to plan a bit better to get to my destination, meaning to give myself plenty of time to get there. The driving is just less stressful than it used to be. You think it'll fly if I say to my wife that I'm getting a steel bumper to reduce stress while driving? Ha!
Nice to have first-world problems...LOL!
At least with the abysmal MPG I'm getting, I've learned to not be so heavy-footed or it would literally cost me.
The Viair 400P looks to come in 12v and 24v variants, while it's big brother the 450P only has a 12v version. Is the 24v version of the 400P meant for a specific purpose or vehicle?
LOL! By the time I'm at retirement age, I would genuinely be surprised if there wasn't already an offroad-capable hybrid (if not full electric) overlanding rig in production. Even then it wouldn't be the budget route to go.
Much appreciated! Nice to hear your positive comment about their customer service. Although I would be using their mounts for Maxtraxs, I hope they can help.
Maybe you already got the answers you need but here goes...
I can't address the RTT / space question as I don't own a RTT. I imagine you might be left over with a bit of space to strap a few small bags down. As for the difference between the Stealth and Ranger, I think its main difference is the...
