Thanks @HKLover . It does have a belt clip, so that might work out for me. Your radio looks much bigger than my inReach, so I'll probably have to modify it a little as well.
Thanks. I have LR and you are correct that it can place my images on a local map. I've yet to find a way to make that sharable really. Right now I'm looking into the Garmin Basecamp and Garmin Adventures combo.
I would really like to put together a comprehensive trip report to share with friend, family and the community. Along those lines I'd like to be able to share the photos I take but also show where along my route they were taken.
My DSLR camera has built in GPS and I'll be running both a...
At one point RAM made a mount for the 2nd Gen inReach SE (not the SE+) but they appear to have discontinued them. So I'm looking for a leftover some place or more likely, an alternative that would still work. I don't mind modifying the mount some if needed. Anyone have any ideas?
I have one of the 2nd gen inReach devices and am looking for a RAM mount for it. If anyone has one they are no longer using or know where one might still be in stock, I'd be very interested in it.

There are actually quite a few if you follow the road back towards Ouray from that last spot I posted.

I've not done any dispersed camping on our trips to Ouray, but I'll try and pinpoint some locations that I have seen other doing it at while on the trails. A couple of questions. What general area would you like to stay within and how high up are you okay with?

Thanks Roy. m I'm not seeing anything 1/2 mile south of Beatty. Are you talking about the area right at the intersection of Vanderbilt Road and Hwy 95?
I totally agree, people over rigs any day of the week. However, there is something kind of special about rolling with a large group of the same vehicle type.
Part of Longwater overlooks Metberry, and one time we were looking down at Metberry and counted 20+ Jeeps and FJs making a train down the trail. I was like, not thanks! lol
Or what about having a clear"pocket" on the inside covers, or even several clear pocket pages in the back so that one could put whatever map/image they wanted to in there?
I know most of the trails around Ouray very well, but I've yet to actually do the Alpine Loop. There are so many good trails there, it's hard to dedicate the time for the Loop.
Thanks @Anak , that is the exact area where I was thinking of setting up. It looks like there is plenty of room to find a spot even if others are already there.
And it looks cold in that pic!
