    2017 Toyota 4runner

The news so far on T4R.org seems to be no news. Several folks have posted photos and info on a supposed 2017 4Runner, but it is really a completely different vehicle not available in North America. If you were considering a TRD Pro, then there's new Cement color coming, but for the regular...

    Hammocks

@utspoolup great post, and surprisingly, I understood everything you said. A few months ago I'd have been like :anguished: at most of the terminology. I don't know if I could sleep in one. I can't sleep on my back, and don't think the work well for sleeping on your side or belly.

What was your first vehicle you took exploring.

My first car was a 1929 Ford Model A, and it had a bad battery that only worked to start it when it was warm. I hated crank starting it, so as often as I could, I'd park in on a hill, so that I could coast down and bump start it. :)

    Looking for Work/Camp/Hike Boots

I've worn Vasque Sundowner boots and Merrill shoes/boots for almost 30 years. Vasque has really gone downhill over the years, and my favorite Merrill's are no longer made. When we were at REI Seattle last fall, the old guy salesman said he'd been a Vasque man, too, but now swore by Solomon. I...

What was your first vehicle you took exploring.

After the FIAT, I bought a new 1975 VW Scirocco, which we used for many car camping trips, and pulling a sailboat to various lakes around Virginia and North Carolina. This took me backpacking around Colorado and New Mexico. Then a short stint in a Dodge Colt hatchback before buying a new...

What was your first vehicle you took exploring.

1969 FIAT 124 Station Wagon. The first photo isn't mine, but exactly like it. I eventually threw the rack away, as it was more rust than steel. The second photo is us camping on some back road in east Tennessee.

    Tents

Yep, that works. I don't understand why Google hosted photos don't work. Someone else had theirs hosted on Google, as well, and I couldn't see them. Privileges maybe? Me not looked into a Google account? Who knows... Thanks you!

I've got an old Eureka Timberline Base Camp 4 man, and a Kelty (?) 2 man , both from the '90s. Like this (Google Images)

Steve’s 2016 Toyota 4Runner Modification and Adventure Thread

Before my 4Runner arrived, I had ordered a set of LED under hood light kits from TacoDane on TacomaWorld/Dane2992 on T4R.org The kit arrived today, I installed it this afternoon, and just went outside to take photos in the dark. I am extremely pleased with the results! There is even light...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Yep, the PrinSu roof rack will be one I'd seriously consider if my current basket/kayak rack/bike rack/awning setup doesn't work out. My only concern with the PrinSu is that the entire load on any ONE crossbar is in a shear/bending load on the fastener in the end. There is no other mechanical...

    Fire Extinguisher

Weird, I have a couple First Alert fire extinguishers, but they are only rated BC. My big 10# garage extinguisher and a small one for the MG are both ABC rated. I thought the linked post made recommendations, not just explanation. I've read (must have been elsewhere) that an ABC general purpose...
