I crawled around under the truck checking for loose bolts or anything that looked out of place. I helped recover a Bronco that was high centered in snow last weekend and when I gave him a low speed snatch with the static strap I heard a loud clank which I was pretty sure was just the hitch...
Yup. I install them then walk around checking other things on the truck, checking out other people's trucks or taking photos. They always get my pressure to within 1 or 2 psi of where I want it and that's good enough offroad.
Any lift that allows you to run larger tires is beneficial even if the lift itself doesn't increase ground clearance at the "frame". Some people mock body lifts because the frame or related parts don't benefit from more ground clearance but adding larger tires due to the increased body clearance...
I use similar ones by Boulder Tool and they work well once you dial in the set pressure. Having a pressure readout in the dash is helpful when using them otherwise I'd probably just pull the cores and lower pressure that way.
As for your tire pressure question, you won't have to worry about...
Some tires are pretty tough even in SL form. The SL Wildpeak AT3W is one of them because even though they are listed as only 2ply sidewalls the plys wrap around the bead then turn up and run back up towards the sidewall armor. The SL Wildpeak is closer to a KO2 in Load Range C. Compared to the...
I saw you ordered a bag of electrical connectors. What would you recommend I use for basic 2 wire connectors that I can unplug easily and are waterproof? I need something for my bumper LEDs and ditch lights. I'm using shrink tube butt connectors at the moment and I need to remove my bumper to...
Look at you using CAD and cardboard templates. You would have laughed at my method of modifying the DV8 steel skid to fit our stock work Canyon. Angle grinder and "eyeballing it" FTW. LOL
Not sure but I've had the vibration and brake squeak since day 1. I always thought it was my tires. My 2016 had a similar squeak but brake lube always cured it for a few months so I thought this truck was the same. I got rid of the P-metric Wildpeaks because I was sure at least 1 was bad...
Thanks man! I've been looking at that. Mine hasn't fully bent yet but I can see it starting to deform and it's only going to get worse. I love that 589Fab is always coming out with useful stuff!
For the work truck I won't bother. It doesn't see any rock crawling action like mine does. My...
I finally got around to installing a DV8 Offroad skid plate on our work Canyon. The DV8 skid is designed to work with their Canyon winch bumper so to make it work on a stock bumper I had to do a little cutting with an angle grinder and drill 2 new holes for the bumper cover. In all it's a pretty...
I took apart my rear brakes for ohh the 12th time to clean all the lube I had previously applied to quiet the squeak when off-road. I decided to try just a very light film on the pad backing plates but no dice. Even after replacing the oem rotors and pads with Powerstop units the squeak is still...
