There is nothing to "deal with". Their money their life. Maybe urge them to join OB. They may change their minds and join us on a group outing someday.
Besides, the simple fact that they are buying gear and supporting the off-road/overlanding market is good enough for me. That helps our...
Given there are a couple of brand new tires on that list I'm not sure how you can say that with any reasonable degree of certainty. Yes, they are proven tough but better than everything else? That being said, I agree with you in that if I had to recommend a "bulletproof" tire to a friend it...
Aye, I looked there and didn't see a sidewall rating. I've even stuck my hand inside one at America's Tire and it doesn't feel as thick as the KO2 next to it but that doesn't mean much. I still think it's a 2ply sidewall even with a 10ply carcass. Still, it's a hell of alot thicker than the...
Yeah for now. When I can afford it I'll get the OME leaf pack. The factory pack is really starting to flatten out so I have to keep running the AutoSprings add-a-leaf to keep some arch in the pack.
Right now I'm more worried about the rear end. It started making funky clunking noises when the...
I know @Lanlubber already bought his tires but for others who are reading this thread and trying to make a tire decision...
I recommend an aggressive all-terrain or hybrid AT/MT for most overlanding type travel. This excludes hardcore rock crawling and mud bogging, however, good AT or hybrid...
Everyone seems to love the Timbrens. I can't justify the cost until I get the rear finished which would be exactly what you are doing. With my front end being a little too tall the compression side of things feels amazing even with the stiffer springs. Once I drop the front a little and trade...
I bent the brake line bracket down when I first did the lift. You can see the brake lines and the bracket in the left side of the last photo. The wheel speed sensor lines were also adjusted to provide more slack. So far so good!
Have you decided what shocks you're going with yet?
I jacked up the rear end today to check on my rear shocks. They have around 30k on them and they aren't exactly treated kindly..... I also wanted to measure the travel distance to determine if the Icon 2.0s were still what I need in terms of extended and collapsed length given my approx. 3"...
I added a pair of Harbor Freight 100w halogen driving lights to the bumper. I need to aim them down a bit but they reach pretty dang for for $25 lights.
I planon adding a 22" LED bar below them in the bumper for better frontal and side coverage.
Most seem to run the diesel. The crazy thing is the Aussie version has coils in the rear instead of leafs. Check out Tyler's channel. He has a lot of great content and recently replaced his previous Navara after it was stolen with a new one.
Aye, I agree. The 4dr JK/JL fits the bill nicely for a more rugged trail rig. For milder trails the WJ, T4R, mid-size trucks etc, work better due to better ride/handling on-road and reliability. It all comes down to the trails you want to run and what level of comfort you demand. :)
It's about damn time you made a build thread! :)
1. Where did you get your custom decals?
2. Where did you get the bars for your dash mounts?
3. What paint did you use for your bumper? I have a hell of a time finding something that doesn't chip when you hit a lady bug.
