I’ve looked at both to mount on my teardrop. I like the 180 concept, but they don’t project out far at all. I’m probably going to do the 8 by 8.5 ARB piece when the time comes.
I’ve been considering the dometic 30L drawer fridge. I’ve used a 50 qt ice chest for many years and figure this would a decent size. If I’m traveling with my teardrop, the ice chest can always hold cold stuff in the galley, then put the perishable items in the fridge in my rig.
I can appreciate that. I grew up very rural, but have spent my career working with people who grew up in large cities. The idea of getting out in the woods is so foreign to them, and downright scary to some.
I’ve posted my overland hound before. A Bernese Mountain dog. We have another, my daughte’s shih tzu, that I sometimes call the overland wheel chock.
Racked out in thecopcar, and a bad selfie with me six months ago. The hound has filled out another 30 pounds since.
I’m an hour away from the Georgetown meet up and have contemplated starting something on an alternate day in the Kyle or San Marcos area. Just based on the member map locations.
The Taco guys I roll with will occasionally try to give me crap about weight. Most of them have added so much to their rigs that they’re at or above gvwr. Mine being a stripped police model was several hundred pounds lighter than a consumer model, and is still below the weight of the mid size...
I received one of these in a subscription box about a year ago. It feels good in the hand, plus it’s an automatic so can be open or closed one handed. The blade holds its edge nicely.

I finally found the upfitter guide with the schematic for the police package auxillary power. I've traced and reconnected the high amperage stuff on the right. I have not found all the ends for the stuff in the center/left, so it's still disconnected.
