I've asked permission from some private property folks along Highway 49 and most don't mind as long as you don't make a mess. There are a lot of areas that are not under any sort of claim.

I couldn't believe the wait was less than an hour to get in. That's why we usually go on a weekday because I'm not about to wait in line for 6 to 8 hours like some people have done on weekends... that's just crazy!

Is anyone interested in trying to pan for gold this spring? California has been hit with some heavy rains and the streams and creeks have been raging, which should have washed down some gold nuggets! A buddy of mine tried gold panning the dirt under some of the larger boulders in nearby creeks...
