What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

My rounded edges are 1.5x.25 DOM cold roll tubing...which makes up the framework for the bumper, one 20 foot stick bent about a million times. Then tacked the skin to the framework and bent the skin around the frame. my bumper posted is actually a tube bumper with a skin over it... his Bumper...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

It’s a one piece bumper skin with recovery points and brush gaurs welded in... I can’t see the back side, but would assume that the mounting points are bent and welded to the skin, just like I did on my Dodge bumper

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Staying closer to the body lines is really hard to do with a metal break. They would have to do a lot more cutting and welding to make the lines match better. I think for a piece of stamped steel they did an excellent job.

    Overlanding First Timer

Salida, Co was my old stomping grounds. You don’t mention any other Colorado towns, so I am assuming you are coming from Nebraska and dropping down into Colorado Springs. From Colorado Springs take Cheyenne Mountain Road (old gold camp road) to Cripple Creek, Colorado. From there you have...

@uz_yota Welcome Angelo, As @Kent R said, you’re located in the US Northwest Region. Wenatchee is a unique spot in our region. You are just about centered between @Sandpoint Steve (Sandpoint, Idaho), @Gabriel Bozeman ( Oak Harbor, Washington), and myself @Slimpartywagon (La Grande, Oregon)...

    Another HAM vs GMRS question

Dual band... you set one band to your repeater and the other to your handheld unit... then you can talk and listen to both at the same time. A repeater is actually more like a mirror bouncing the radio wave with a more direct point (usually to a satalite or to a digital gateway. I would...

    How Minimalist Can You Get?

MSR is the brand Name... I don’t know if I can even think of what it stands for. It’s just been one of those names like Coleman to me. My mom had a MSR wisperlite like stove from her backpacking days and several red fuel bottles that said MSR. So when we packed up as kids, dad would ask if we...

    Another HAM vs GMRS question

Ham does cost for each test... each test site is different, mine cost $15 per test session and last 10 years, but is free for the renewal. Had I gone from zero to extra in one session it would have been $15.00 , but since I didn’t get my General, I have to go back and pay another $15 to retake...
